Well, I wouldn't be saying that if it wern't for the fact that every main character has gotten more episodes like that except for her. I might have overreacted a bit, but on the other hand it's still odd since they use to have no problem giving her more casual episodes back in the first two seasons, whereas now she's just neglected to two-parters and being a supporting character. I mean come on, even the background ponies are getting their own episode, but nothing in sight for Twilight. I don't think giving her another focus episode like It's About Time should be all that hard to do.
In fact, I can think of one right now: Twilight Sparkle finding out the downsides of being a princess due to being constantly harrassed by the papperazzi and not getting any privacy at all. Hilarity Ensues as she gets increasingly frusterated with them and tries many different plans to get them off her back, especially since nearly anything she does or says is taken out of context. There, a simple comedic premise that could easily happen in the show. I'm not saying that this should be the exact premise for an episode, but it is an example of how you can still do funny stuff with her even after she became a princess.

To be fair there are plenty of these titles where it's not clear who the main character is.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Plus, the vast majority of Season 1 was focused on her, even stories not focused on her required her to show up and be part of it somehow. Since, she's still gotten about the same spread of attention the rest do, just focused more on the two parters.
^That is exactly my problem though, all she gets is two-parters. Remember how in Season 2 she not only had the two-parters, but also Lesson Zero, Luna Eclipsed and It's About Time, with the first and third ones being all about her while the 2nd one still had her as the main character even as Luna got plenty of spotlight {And all 3 of those episodes are some of my favorites in the show}? I'm wondering why the writers don't just do that again.

Applejack barely gets any focus episodes and she's still best pony.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Maybe Twilight will help in the Princess Dream episode? Also Amending Fences sounds like a Twilight episode as Amending laws seems like something she'll occasionaly have to do. Once again the Hoofeilds and Mc Colts is either a Twilight or an Applejack episode.
Also "The Cutie Map" weren't really Twilight episodes so she's not always the star of those anymore.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.@Marston Two Words: Fan Dumb. You know the shitstorm that surrounded the Season 3 finale, and how powerful alicorns are seen as by the fandom? I think those 2 factors are the reason why Twilight doesn't get more screen time lately, I assume the writers don't want to see her (or the rest of the mane 6) get thrown onto the scrappy heap.
^That still doesn't excuse season 4, where all the episode scripts were written BEFORE the alicorn Twilight controversy came up. And if that is true, it just makes the writers look overly afraid. "Oh no, 10 people might get mad about Twilight becoming a princess! Better scrap nearly any possible focus she could get, otherwise we'll have to deal with them being mean to us on the internet!" Not to mention that if they were afraid of the fans wrath, we wouldn't get the Running Gag on twitter of the staff making fun of the Ruined Forever crowd, making that possibility even less likely.

Or.. she still had four episodes devoted primarily to her, and provided a strong supporting role in several others. And the writers simply felt that was fine for no malicious reason that had anything to do with anything but it being what they thought.
Add in that it all led up to a culmination of Twilight being upset over the fact that she's done so little since becoming a princess, adding yet another possible reason for that exact thing to have gone like it did.
Next up, what the hell does it matter how many "episodes" a pony gets versus others? it's not some competition, it's not a measure of anything.
I think it's less wanting a high episode count and more "I like this character and want them to get more episodes". I mean, it has been a while since Twilight got a real slice of life episode that focuses primarily on her.
Reaction Image Repository^^Because the Slice Of Life episodes she got were awesome, and she doesn't get those anymore. The other mane 5, CMC and Spike have all gotten those type of episodes lately, so she's being excluded for some unknown reason. Slice Of Life episodes are what this show does best at, because that is where the characters get to truely shine, and it's where most of the great character interactions and moments come from. That is why I want Twilight to get more of those type episodes.

OK then, but it's definitely not out of malice or because they don't care.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectThe only other explanation I can think of is that Hasbro is preventing them from doing that sort of thing with Twilight now that she's a princess, out of fear that parents would complain about the "Role model" acting badly. I admit it sounds stupid, but this is Hasbro we're talking about here. Ask any Transformers fan about the stupid stuff that company has done and I bet they can tell you plenty of stories, even as far back as G1.
It's just hard to say. I don't feel like she's been used badly.
Remember Twilight Time, when she was eating burgers? That ain't role model behaviour. And neither is getting dirty, sleeping on pancakes and then looking like a complete dork.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectWhen was the last time we saw any of her actual character flaws come up though? I legitimitly can't think of the last episode where she showed that she's not perfect and is just as flawed as any pony else.
Meh, I should probably leave this spoiler thread before I ramble on about my bitterness over how one of my favortie characters is being used {Or lack thereof}. Unlike all the times I said that on the regular thread, I actually 100% mean this {Only for this thread though, not the regular pony thread}. Sorry about all of this.
And this is based on what facts? What beside wild, chicken little-esque, the sky is falling conjecture pulled out of nothing? "Oh there's this conspiracy of these people hating her." First the writers hate her, now it's "Well Hasbro told them to do this because reasons"
Or, it's simply what they want to do, based on noting other then them simply feeling she has more then enough screen time.
Again both premier and finale were all about her, and she had a fairly large role in several other episodes. She's hardly ignored, hardly shoved aside, hardly.. anything other then simply being treated like any other member of an ensemble cast. Becuase that's simply the way they are writgn, because it's just what they think is best.
Also, third ep, pretty heavily Twilight focused, so she's hardly not getting anything this season.
You re pulling this vast conspiracy out to nothing but paranoid delusions. She is still there, still used, stilll... everything. nothing has changed, other then not feeling the need to cram her into every episode somehow.

Sorry, I guess I just don't see it.
I mean, in the latest episode, she's still over-concerned with perfection and not realizing that the princess hates the Gala.
No need for 'paranoid delusions', chief. I think the point was made.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI am glad at times like now that I am more of a casual viewer and that I try not get roped into the behind-the-scenes drama of the show.
Haven't you already said that?
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYeah, but I still stand by it.
I don't really pay much attention to the behind-the-scenes stuff either.
Reaction Image RepositoryWell, we can finally use this thread for its intended purpose.
