That sounds like a very interesting reversal of the "villain tries to prevent winter from ENDING" plot! I did wonder if there is a "Winter Start-Up" holiday like they have Winter Wrap-Up, so maybe it will be about that. Considering that Rainbow Dash works for the weather team, that could be a very big conflict involving what she wants for Tank vs. her job (and she'd have the power to do things like destroy snow clouds and blow away cold fronts).

But I think not having winter is an even better option anyway.

Why do they even need winter in Equestria anyway? The ponies control the passing of seasons in the first place and without winter they could grow all year.

Some plants, like apples, do need a cold period.

But I doubt Equestrian apples do, because magic.

Probably something about "harmony."

Several posts later and no one's made a Fall Out Boy joke. I'm so disappointed.

Also, she's had Tank for what? Three years and only NOW finds out he needs to hibernate during winter? This is what happens when its only winter when plot-relevant. The Magically-Controlable-Seasons aren't helping!

Maybe it gets too hot if there isn't a regular cold period of the year. Or maybe it messes up the biological cycles of some animals and plants in the Equestrian ecosystem if there's not a winter period.

I also thought of something ironic: For once, Rainbow Dash DOESN'T want something to be made cooler! Which makes me wonder if they're going to reference that "20% cooler" meme.

Maybe they only have winter once every three years.

She's had Tank for three seasons, I don't know if I buy that it's been three years. I mean, the Cake twins were born around the same time and they don't seem to have aged much. Maybe there's only been one winter since she got Tank, and she remembers that hibernation and doesn't want to go through it again.

I think Pricess Twilight Sparkle established that Seasons 1-3 occured in a single year.

That's debatable. Celestia never says its been a year since the first episode's Summer Sun Celebration, just she hasn't like all the previous ones and this year Luna is partaking. Of course, this is one of those times that can easily go in circles...

That is some vintage Rainbow Dash logic right there. I can already hear the fans arguing over whether she should be fired from the weather team for misusing her authority.

What about putting Tank's health in danger by not letting him hibernate. That's some grade A animal abuse I tell yea.

Maybe that'll be the reason that RD doesn't go through with it. "Wait, you mean he has to hibernate?"

It's time for Fluttershy to slap some sense into this filly.

It's going to take poor Fluttershy all episode to spit it out/ get Dash to listen.

But really, he shouldn't has to hibernate?

I think we're overlooking the real crime here, which is that without winter there's no reason for them to wear adorable winter boots. And that can't be allowed.
