Okay, so I'm currently trying to extracte the background music from a video, by removing the vocals ect. Audacity has a vocal remover that can do this, but the Default setting removes too much. I can however, adjust the settings to a particular frequency. What I need, is to find out what frequency the vocals are on so that I can remove them and nothing else.

Any tips?

Trial and error, mainly. If you aren't already, select just a small sample (a couple seconds) for it to process until you find the sweet spot. This will save you render time.
