Pacing is a bit slow. My expression was frowny during all that talk about magic protecting logic cause it didn't make sense for something as illogical as magic to protect the natural order of things.
I don't think I'm going to happy if the princess is stuck on that stupid island for most of the story. I find the two main dudes so far boring as the main protagonists and would prefer seeing the princess take on the clan herself, rather than through them as proxies.

Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. It seems they will drag every episode to lenght of one chapter, so it's bad pacing will reamain, princess will stuck on island until last episode and it also seems that it will have fairly amount of Ho Yai unlike its original work. It's good show, but bad adaptation even without of almost any Distillation

In regards to the whole magic protecting the natural order of things. despite the fact that for magic to work the natural order must change into what the magician wants. It's not as big of logical fallacy as it may seem. Working with in the bounds of the World verses Completely over righting the world.

" Magic is a method of talking to the universe in words that it cannot ignore."So tempted to read the manga already, but I don't wanna spoil myself.
I find the magic system interesting.
Just do that, manga feel better. Realy.
I probably will, after the anime stops airing. Besides from what I hear the anime has its own strengths.
Anime will cover mere 14 chapters and will continue with its slow pace due that. I started read it after watching first episode too and don't regret it.
Eh, 11 more episodes then. That should also let the scanlators do more chapters. I'm not in a hurry anyway.
Manga is monthly, has 18 chapters now and is pretty much right behind first ark. So...
19 already, actually. And yeah, still not in a hurry. I can't access the manga aside from scanlations anyway.
I tried, but I have 0% (nay, negative) interest in shipping the two main male characters. Plus, I am starting to get a bit annoyed cause I've just realized that not only is the most important (supposedly most powerful wizard in the world) female character is being relegated to adviser mode ala fan service, the second or third most important female character was Stuffed into the Fridge.
Also, I'm confused as to the genre of this series - I thought it was shonen, but now it's starting to look like shonen ai.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. There's a difference? :p
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntTouche.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Well episode 4 was excessively long backstory.
Geez, is there always a reason for everything bad that happens in Mahiro's life? I'm really starting to dislike him, he's like a paranoid delusional guy who just happens to be right every time.
Ewww. Celery.

So, episode 5 is up. Definitely a surprising twist. Hakaze was apparently Dead All Along. My guess is some form of time travel. Samon waited for her to die before enacting his plan, but the Tree of Genesis is letting her communicate into the future so she can thwart him anyway. Though that does seem to contradict what Hakaze said about Samon needing her as a fail-safe—which, I should note, is something he seemed to confirm.
Seemed more like a paradoxical double-existence to me
Also; why can't Hakaze use the barrel as an offering?
My assumption was she could use it, but she wouldn't get enough power to do anything useful, and then she wouldn't have a barrel.
Actually, I didn't immediately assume she was dead either, but it's certainly looking likely.
We also don't really know where the cutoff is for technological stuff. I'd say it has to be something manufactured, and preferably something you would only find in the 20th/21st century. But I really have no idea.

We have a pretty good idea of where the cut-off floor is on 'civilization,' actually: The dolls. Apparently carving a crude human-shaped doll and sticking a nail in it counts as "civilized," if not very.
So what you're saying is that 1800s tech just managed to get her a magical radio.
Episodes 5 and 6: This story just keeps on piling on the plot threads. Rather interesting. I need to know the deal with Hakaze, stat.
Well she is the most powerful mage in the world. Yeeeah.
I caught up with the manga, but I'll probably stay with the anime because of the sweet character designs. They seem so round in the manga. And for Hanazawa Kana, that's a given.
I did naht.I can tell that I like the princess a lot cause even though she was too extreme destroying a mountain, I still like her a lot.
... SHE'S DEAD ALREADY?!
Latest episode - I don't understand why all that had to happen just for the sake of passing information and items.
And now I'm under the impression that the main character wanted to be in a threesome.

Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. That bit was apparently not in the manga, and I honestly don't understand why there was a scene like that.
This episode is really the worst for the pacing. Is yari-otoko immortal or something?
