Aw, now that looks good. Abe's Oddysee always had great, rustic environments. I've always preferred that grungy sci-fi feel over, say, the sleek Mass Effect version.
Only thing that bothers me; no more leaving the screen to put the Sligs back to sleep. I get the feeling there's going to be a lot more waiting around than there used to be. Plus, leaving the screen was sometimes vital to Abe's survival, or fellow Mudokons who were being beaten by the Sligs.
Also, I played Abe's Oddysee recently and I hope they've implemented the "All'a Ya!" call from Abe's Exoddus. Not being able to lead multiple Mudokons at once was a pain.
They're really going to extra mile with this, so I can't imagine why they wouldn't.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!Goddamn that's awesome!
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.That looks great. I hope they fix the silly save system that the first game had. I hated having to repeat whole sections of the game because it didn't feel like saving my progress.
It's only the finest stealth-puzzle-platformer I've ever played, and I love the original.
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeI only played Abe's Exodus - borrowed it from a friend. And, I only completed it through cheat codes, which I find annoying now.
However, I do remember that it was an awesome game, and I excitedly look forward to this remake. Who knows, maybe this will in turn lead to brand new Oddworld games? One can only dream.

Jonah FalconThat article was... amazing. A developer who actually cares about their fans, and can see through the lies of companies like EA and Activision. I wish there were more companies like that. The remnants of the original Rare are also like that, and are now working independent of Microsoft on spiritual successors to both Conkers Bad Fur Day and Banjo-Tooie. Things seem to be finally going uphill.

Wow ... I never used to like Lorne Lanning. I thought he was procrastinating on projects like Hand Of Odd but after hearing about some of the crap that Oddworld Inhabitants was put through, he clearly couldn't help it. They were royally screwed over by EA. I'm normally not comfortable with digital distribution but that interview may have actually been enough to convince me.
EA takes it upon themselves to be the best in acting like jackasses.

EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESYeah. I didn't suspect anything different.
That article apparently couldn't help being snide towards Lanning though:
"Lanning's indie posturing is also rather hollow. He fired most of the Oddworld Inhabitants staff at extremely short notice following the release of Stranger's Wrath, and the company has been a shell of its former self ever since".
Doesn't that fit in with what Lanning accused EA of doing though? "EA withdrew marketing and promotional support for the game because it wasn't a multi-format title, and the game sank at retail, shifting 600,000 units "on a title that really needed to do 1.6 million to break even." So no wonder he had to fire most of the OI staff.
I was thinking of buying as many of the Oddworld games as I could find on PSN, but if they're remaking the first one maybe I'll just wait for that one.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.x4 I'd be surprised if that guy gets to keep his job, that stuff is like spokesman faux pas numero uno.
Lanning is his own boss. He's not going to fire himself.
Jonah FalconI meant the EA guy
An HD remake of the original Abe's Oddysee is coming, and it's New 'N Tasty.
