Revolutionary Tropers - Or, Yet Another @$&# Anime RP

My last attempt at this was...pretty terrible, for reasons I now recognize.

But I think the setting has potential; let's just hope I can get it right this time.

You're students in a school. For weeks, you go about your normal lives, until you receive letters from a mysterious entity calling itself 'End of the World'. Obeying the instructions he gives you, you become members of the Student Council and are swept up in the Dueling Game.

Whoever holds the Rose Bride, they say, will be given the Power to Revolutionize the World - but she can only be won in a duel between two bearers of the Rose Signet. You will fight with swords. Roses will be pinned to your chests; whoever loses their rose will lose the duel.

In summary: Highlander meets Degrassi, as directed by David Lynch. Hell yes.

Describe your character any way you see fit.

(I'd be interested in having a So TF-style pregame to set up character arcs before the actual duels begin.)

Yes - but knowledge of the series IS NOT REQUIRED.

How not required? Cuz i watch anime but if someone asked if i wanted to watch that (which i only know about in passing) I would be like "No thanks, im gonna go watch Aoi Hana and Freezing back to back so my brain explodes (becomes my tastes are f-ing eclectic)" but im starved for RP and I dont mind the idea of sword-fights.

It's out-of-continuity with the series. You supply the characters, I supply the mindfrell.

I like swords.

Consider me interested.

It's early days yet. Would it be okay to recycle an Utena fanfic character, with suitable changes?

Totally - but don't assume you'll be a duelist immediately.

In that case...

Name: Skyler Sands

Age: 16

Appearance: Skyler is average height for his age, but scrawny, which makes him look taller at a distance. He has mousy brown hair, currently cut short, and watery blue eyes. The right side of his nose has a scar that's normally hidden by his glasses.

Personality: Skyler is very book-smart, but repeated beatings in junior high have made him shy about speaking up in public. He's also shy around girls, not least due to a strict moral upbringing. Skyler does not make friends easily, but is prone to fits of helpfulness if he sees a problem no one else is fixing.

Strengths: Despite his lack of muscles or athletic skill, Skyler is a good lifter and carrier due to long practice on the family farm and doing "volunteer" work with his family. Animals like him, though he does not return the favor (being a confirmed meat-eater and quite capable of butchering his own if need be.) Book-smart and widely read. Plays the saxophone.

Weaknesses: Wimp. Acrophobic, shy, bad at closing off his heart to those in need. Bully magnet.

• Age: 17
• Appearance: Lance has black hair that comes down to just past his ears. His skin has a slightly pale pallor to it and his eyes are blue-grey in color. He’s around average height and average build.
• Personality: Personality-wise, Lance initially comes across as aloof and unapproachable, but for those who actively engage in a conversation with him, this is hardly the case. He enjoys gaming of all kinds, from tabletop games to video games of all kinds, and especially enjoys playing them with others. He is far more social when participating in a game than he is in “real life”.
• Strengths: Perceptive and Smart
• Weaknesses: Not very outgoing, he always seems like he has something to hide

I'm highly interested in this, though I've never roleplayed on T Vtropes before.. I'll consider a character and post again maybe.

Also, I am just wondering if this this takes place in Ohtori High School (I am SO KEEN for this roleplay if it does), and if you've decided yet who the Rose Bride is?

Name: Beradona "Dona" Tsubaki

Age: 15

Appearance: Wavy shoulder length black hair, blue-green eyes, always wears reddish lipstick.

Interests: Being with popular people, gossip, bubblegum, pop, shopping, parties, drinking every now and then, hairdressing. Learning about reptiles and plants (alone).

Personality: Friendly, occasionally flirty, apparently vacuous, good conversationalist. She has a good reputation amongst peers and teachers because she does not stand out in any way. However, although she has lots of acquaintances, she has no true friends. Talking to her and being with her can be like talking to an artificial intelligence - although she apparently enjoys chatting, she soaks up all of the empathy and honesty and substance you give her and gives nothing of her own in return.

History: "My history teacher, she thinks I must have been like, born yesterday, right?"
