Apparently, 3D Realms isn't as dead as I thought. They are making a new FPS called "Earth No More", which is slated to come out for PC, PS 3 and 360, which is actually already in development since quite a while and was planned for a 2009 release, but put on hold.

However, they have a problem: They need money. And for that, they use crowdfunding through a new, completely game-focused site called "Gambitious", of which Scott Miller is apparently a member of the advisory board. He is also Chief Creative Officer of Radar Group which... I'm not even sure what they do. But apparently they want to revolutionize the game industry. Earth No More is associated with them.

Me, I'm very skeptical. I said so somewhere else, but I doubt that DNF's state was solely the fault of Gearbox and my trust in 3D Realms is very low. I find the Radar Group thing in itself more interesting.

Still, it could be interesting to see how it will work out. Whether it will work out at all, I have my doubts whether they will even manage to raise enough money with their new crowdfunding site.

You know, I actually expected that there is already a thread by JAF about it.

Become an investor in a new 3D Realms title.

I guess this would be a...LONG-term investment.

I feel like they're Tempting Fate by calling their game "Earth No More". As if the "No More" will suddenly take on some horrible ironic meaning the same way the "Forever" in Duke Nukem Forever did.

Also, it seems to have been announced as far back as 2007 and was slated to release in 2009. It's apparantly been involved in at least one lawsuit as well. This is starting to sound familiar.
