Ben was a bit scared by Fabius's outburst, his ears going backwards and pushing down against his skull, his tail lashing out and crouching down.

"No, is fine, I fine," Fabius calmly said. "I will find taxidermist if I ever return to Gurbenia, and then we will beat him in streets for bringing shame to Institute of Medicine."
Benjamin got back to standing tall* on his four legs and stared directly at Fabius. "Isn't that a bit extreme? Wouldn't making him admit the truth and apologize enough to restore your institute's honour?"

"Fuckin' racists, am I right?" Guy replied to Dax, setting his own plate down. "What—what fraction of the crew would you say are human, hmm? Less than half? I suppose they did that because Humans are some kind of standard, all the other races being deviations from a norm. Why not Cats? Oh, Humans are just taller than us, along with elves. Oh, Dorfs are just wider, Orcs are stronger, it's fucking stupid that everything be so Anthrocentric!"
Guy punctuated his rant by viciously cutting a piece of fish off and jamming it into his mouth.
"How would telling truth about duping Dean of Medicine return honor?" Fabius asked, starting to quickly make his way through his bowl of beef and milk.
"Hey, you think this tuna's dolphin-safe?" Dax mused as he took a bite.
Ben stood firm before he gave his speech. "How would beating someone in the street restore honour? You're not restoring your institute's honour, you're just dishonouring it by acting like a brute. People will remember your institute for the member who committed assault. What you should be looking for is actual compensation, make sure that they can pay for the wasted resources and miseducation. And if they aren't willing, then they should be dealt with through legal justice, not vigilante justice."

"But mob beating is legal justice in Gurbenia," Fabius responded as he drank some milk from the bowl. "They no have courts in way you do in this country. Or, what was this country, as now we on open seas."
Ben continued to look at Fabius and asked "Okay than that's the laws of your country but I have to ask, how can you be sure you didn't beat up an innocent man instead of a guilty one?"

"First, Mayor of town takes stories from both sides," Fabius replied. "Then, Council of Elders interrogate guilty party. If they find guilty, Citizen's Brigade has most glorious honor of delivering punishment." He stared at the fox, "How you make sure you no punish innocent man in your country?"
"Well, first the party says whether they're guilty or not guilty and than..."
Ben started to feel hungry and paused from feeling it. "Well, we have lawyers, one for defending the client and one to go against them and..."
The fox looked at his plate, he hadn't touched it and the meat smelt so good. "Can...can I please eat before I continue?"

Ben chowed down on the food in his plate. He'd prefer if he could cut some of it up with a knife and fork but his paws lacked the dexterity to perform that task.

All the while as people stood in line to get their food, Jeina walked all around, looking at everything and noting down whatever issues she could spot. The young woman was almost never still and while she seemed to possess some reservoir of boundless energy, so much running around and putting things in their place all day seemed to be taking their toll on her.
"Now, I don't know if I should feel proud or bad, but still, I sure am lucky to have such hardworking Yeoman" says a voice from one of the tables. At some indeterminate point in time, the Captain of the ship somehow managed to slip unseen into the mess hall and sat alone on one of the tables there, a good amount of plates set before her and in the process of being eaten.

"Nice to meet you Yathelalina." Curio said, extending a hand to the pixie. He paused, realizing the problem size difference made for his gesture. After a couple seconds' consideration, he curled four of his fingers, extending his pinky finger to the Yathelalina instead.
"Tower acadamy you said? A fine educational establishment, so I hear." Curio said, displaying a hearty academic interest.

Nora, meanwhile, grabbed 5 plates as she said, balancing meals of beef, pork, chicken, lamb and fish on her arms as she carefully sat down on a table, laying her food down in front of her. "Ah, great!"
"Yeah." Guy replied, taking more bites. "What's that mean, dolphin-safe? Like, deadly to dolphins, or what?"

Zander grabbed a couple of plates, and made his way to where Nora had sat down, but upon seeing another person sitting with her, he decided against it. He instead sat an empty table, looking around the room as he ate.
