That's going to be distracting how he has the face of Tommy Pickles.

[up]Hah! Yeah I though so too. [lol]

My first reaction: sounds like the title of a horror movie.

My second reaction: looks like the plot of The Village.

My third reaction: Oh look, there ARE actual magical characters in the film, it isn't just the Father being crazy!

This might merit watching. The animation alone is beautiful.

I just watched this film. I bought a copy of it while in Belgium this month, without subtitles. My French needs some work, but it was generally pretty easy to get the gist of what was going on. And you know what? I heartily recommend this film. In fact, I'm kind of sorry that given the Oscars' recent habit of nominating small-budget European animated films for the animation academy award, this film didn't get a nod last year. It's absolutely gorgeous, the story is heartwarming and engrossing, the voice work is excellent, as is the music. The backgrounds are in and of themselves proof enough for me that hand-drawn animation can never be completely substituted by CGI. This film seems to have passed under the radar almost completely, which is a big shame, here's hoping it'll get more recognition.

Lol so I'm not the only one who thought of Tommy? But under the radar indeed, I never even heard of it.
