Why.

To that end, Waterman adds, the well-recognized brand that is Brave Little Toaster has been deemed to have specific, suitable elements that can be useful for merchandising, such as the potential for incorporating into its assemblage of adorably anthropomorphic appliances "technology that didn’t exist back in 1987, including the iPhone." Additions like this—combined with semi-topical cultural references, and perhaps a musical sequence set to an '80s pop song—will create the synergistic cross-promotional entertainment that today's children so enjoy, and which generate the sort of profits for the Watermans that continue to prevent them from peering into the abysmal depths of their own soullessness and discovering that they, too, are little more than talking machines.

Why?

I've never even seen the original and I think this is a bad idea.

Looking for some stories?

If it's good, then good, if not then I'll just ignore it and/or make fun of it. No harm in trying to remake it.

Though my childhood will still die a little either way, but that was inevitable.

I won't lie, I always thought the original was a little too sappy.

Well, every rule has its exception.

The sequel where they go to Mars, I remember it being So Bad, It's Horrible.

Wait, Isn't there already a CGI remake of Brave Little Toaster?

From where I stand, the TS trilogy is already a better spiritual successor, so I really don't care what anyone does with the toaster now. Can't be worse than the 3rd movie.

Or would that also be Cars, due to the junkyard cars? wink

Can't be worse than the 3rd movie.
I never even heard of the third one.

Actually the Mars one was the one I saw the most of; the first movie must have been a little before my time.

[up] Alot of the team on the first toaster movie (including Lasseter) went on to work on the Toy Story films. And it shows in some scenes.

And the Mars movie was the 3rd one.......but it was released before the second one, even though they keep making references to the second one(mainly, the supercomputer in the second movie tells them how to make their spacecraft.) Why do I know this crap?

Also, LOL, you said "GGI" instead of "CGI", dmysta 3000.

The Brave Little Toaster remade as CGI? It sounds like an interesting idea. ideasmile

If you think TBLT was overly sappy, I would advise you to check out the Nightmare Fuel section of the article. I don't think it's that sappy. In fact, it makes me sit there and think how inanimate objects are lucky to be just that, inanimate.

I wonder if making that fireman clown CGI would make him even more nightmarish. surprised

[up]

The problem for me is not that it's done in CGI, but that it's done by Waterman Entertainment. Who haven't made a single good movie.

Just reading the description I can feel that they missed the point of the brave little toaster.

I want to see The Brave Little Toaster. This infamous "Worthless" scene sounds amazing.

That's about as far as my experience with the film goes though, a small desire to see it. But I still think this idea sounds god awful.

I like the idea of updating the appliance designs for the times. Example- the radio could be more like an iPod. Other than that, not looking forward to this.
