If the name is causing confusion within this thread itself, that's a very bad sign. I can easily imagine the name being misused for all cases of people who are simply addicted to heroism - superheroes, people who pursue heroics at the expense of their personal life etc.
Surmising about a character's hypothetical actions according to your unique interpretation of them is not, in fact, the presence of a trope. This trope, whatever it is called, is about manufacturing things to hero against. Hero Syndrome is a real term, and conveniently refers to the "hero", Syndrome, from the Incredibles, but inconveniently, is also used as a synonym for White Knight Syndrome.

Hero Syndrome can easily be confused for Chronic Hero Syndrome and Engineered Heroics. It's also not thriving.
