I believe that you are taking the title a bit too literally. Tear Jerker pages are meant for scenes that made the audience (us) feel sad or even cry, not the characters themselves. The current image is fine.
^ I never said tear jerker meant characters crying. I said characters crying could be a visual shorthand, and elsewise we could use something with clearer tear jerker value than what we got there now.
"[Mother Teresa] was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty." - Christopher HitchensI think, as I thought before I'd ever seen the show, that the current one has a very high "tearjerker value". Keep until much better image suggested.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Pinkamena is fine.
Moon◊I don't really see a problem with this.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
I still think showing some character just looking a little upset is not far enough for tear jerker status, but already at least 4 or maybe 5 users disagree with me so I guess I should leave it be.

"[Mother Teresa] was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty." - Christopher HitchensIt's fine. It doesn't require context to understand, and she looks sad, and it looks sad.
With the consensus to keep the current pic, let's lock up.
Pinkie... vaguely looks like she might be about to cry. (EDIT: According to the caption, that is. I forgot to mention she doesn't look that upset to me.) In context, she doesn't. So, at the very least, the caption needs changing.
Are we to use characters crying as a visual shorthand? If so there are (in comparison) more dignified examples, like Fluttershy crying in Hurricane Fluttershy, or in Putting Your Hoof Down. Or maybe we could use something not involving characters crying, but the tear jerker value should be clearer in the image than in the current one.
