Corporate gun sponsorship seems like a logical if contentious step in realistic first-person shooters though. Not quite sure what I think about that (and maybe neither does the article's author).
Yeah, copyright and licensing with regards to guns seems to be getting freer. For instance, Counter Strike: Global Offensive has the real names for the guns, as opposed to earlier installments where fake names were made (excluding the original mod, apparently).
EDIT: I shoulda also mentioned back when I made this post that I do think that this is in kinda poor taste, considering recent events.
