It's a licensed crossover. Is this the first time you've seen one?
...
Wait, how did you think Nintendo got to use the Rabbids if they were the developers?
How did you think UBISOFT got the use of MARIO characters, conversely!??!

Well, first they bought Nintendo a nice dinner, then one thing led to another and...
The story is well known since that E3: some Ubisoft developers approached Nintendo because they wanted to do the crossover, Nintendo was convinced by the fact that the pitch of putting Mario in a strategy RPG sounded unique enough.
Actually, it's the opposite. Nintendo told Ubisoft that they wanted a crossover, and that they could make anything but a platformer because they wanted a new game that was nothing like what Mario had been in before.
I'm really confused about what you're trying to say here. Is this really the first crossover you've seen?
Simple answer. Thanks, I appreciate it. I just don't follow E3.
I stand corrected. Weird that Nintendo brought up the idea, but Ubisoft was the one who made the game.
If I had to guess, I'd say it was an olive branch because they wanted to win back third parties for the Switch. "Hey, you know how they say only Nintendo characters sell on Nintendo platforms? Develop for us and we'll let you use one!"
Watching Arin play Rabbids...Oh god..
Mario + Rabbids is a strong contender for worst Grumps gameplay of all time, and that's really saying something.
I don't have strong feeling for the Rabbits letsplay. I wouldn't call it horrible.
I don't think the videos are bad, it's just that Arin's quite possibly the worst at this game ever.
It was so bad that it was just unwatchable.

You ARE AWARE we're talking about Arin Hanson here, right??
It's usually pretty funny when he tucks up, not here though like at ALL.
It's less fun here because the game literally tells him how to play itself; which Arin ignored because he was too busy talking about poo and milkshakes.
Yeah, no, it's not worth it - especially when I've got two other people on my You Tube feed playing it, too.
Guest Grumps with Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe, two of the writers for Rick and Morty and Good Game.
They're playing a Grey's Anatomy Wii game that the two helped write. Haven't watched it yet, but it sounds interesting.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? They must both love writing tons and tons of rapid-fire dialogue.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Dan and Arin play A Hat in Time.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when they get to World 2 and uncover the Jontron cameo.
"I'll show you all of Paris, I'll take you on a tour, we'll go up and up and up so high they'll long for an encore!"
So then how did Ubi Soft manage to get the Super Mario characters?
