Idea stolen from here. It's the same, but with video games instead of cartoons.

Games I dislike:

Sonic The Hedgehog 2006: It actually had a decent soundtrack, even if the game itself was crappy (and yes, I have played it before).

Mario Teaches Typing: The music was stupid. The plot was stupid. The cutscenes were stupid. Mario's disembodied head was stupid. But that program helped me to get better at typing when I was little, dammit.

The Legend Of Zelda Phantom Hourglass: A lot of the items were fun to use, and the dialogue was pretty amusing.

Games I like:

Minecraft: I think the ending tries a little too hard to be deep and meaningful, and that the Enderdragon boss fight is kind of underwhelming compared to what else you can do.

Sonic CD: The American soundtrack, while not bad by any means, doesn't fit with the levels in my opinion (Collision Chaos and Wacky Workbench are probably the least fitting for me).

Portal2: The second act was really dull and annoying compared to the fun and creative first and third acts.

Games I don't like

God of War is a genuinely good game with fun, intuitive mechanics and a badass protagonist. I still don't like it. tongue

Games I like

Super Metroid really has awkward wall jumping controls. I managed to get the hang of it, but they just feel weird, especially when other games (Even a fighting game like Smash Bros) got wall jumping so right.

Metroid Prime 3 has way too many Wii motion control gimmicks. While I enjoyed aiming and grappling, the various terminals with twist switches and levels were a pain.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.

Like:

Sonic Generations 'really could've poked more fun at the Narmier moments of the series. But alas, no. It's especially sad since the story was written by the Colors writers.

Sonic CD: The special stages suck.

Dislike:

Tony Hawk's Project 8: The soundtrack is nice.

Sonic Rivals: The... stages look cool, I guess?

Games I like:

Dark Souls is a bit too unforgiving at times, especially with the bosses that can kill you in one hit and make you have to replay the whole level.

Skyrim's faction quests are too short and a little unfulfilling (Initiate to Arch-Mage in a few in-game days?).

Uncharted 3's plot kind of falls flat at the end, the middle section with pirates is unnecessary, and there's no exciting supernatural element.

Games I dislike:

Saints Row 2 has some pretty good character customisation and at least the driving's better than GTA.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands deserves praise for at least trying to replicate the feel of Sands of Time, even if it does so by making a generic version of the story.

Morrowind is much more imaginative than the somewhat generic sequels Oblivion and Skyrim. Shame about the gameplay.

Games I Dislike

Skyrim has a vast open world with tons of content to explore, and the dragons are awesome.

Lost Planet 2 has some of the most amazing creature designs I've ever seen. And the way they move. The animators must have been consuming a diet composed of pure java.

Games I Like

Dungeon Fighter Online gets waaaaaay too grindy as you play.

Azure Dreams has bad graphics. I've never put any weight on how a game looks technically before, but Azure Dreams looks pretty ugly outside of character portraits.

I've won one online match in Blaz Blue. Forty-three matches. One win. Jesus.

Dislike:

Dri3er had decent driving mechanics if nothing else.

Sonic '06 had a great soundtrack.

Like:

Deadly Creatures was too short.

Skyrim is super buggy and can crash at really inopportune moments. Not to mention I find some of the female outfits to be a little narmy.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas also had that bug problem.

Ocarina Of Time would've benefited from a faster running speed.

Jak 2 and 3 didn't leave you with much to do after you beat the game.

Pokemon Red And Blue were good for their time but kind of a mess and I don't understand how anyone could tell me that they're objectively better than future games.

I always did wish SA2 had an overworld like SA1.

Soul Calibur 3 and its chances of corruption.

Endless Ocean suffered from weird animal placement. (Polar bears in the South Pacific anyone?)

Dislike:

  • Command & Conquer 4: It brought much needed change, a new direction for the gameplay, and a conclusion to the Tiberium series!
  • Defense of the Ancients (and anything spawned from it): Don't worry about map memorization, because there's only one, even within the other games! A huge list of items and combinations to choose from! Play against the most competitive and "passionate" gaming community to exist, and watch as your friends slowly become one of them as well!
  • Star Craft 2: A solid campaign with a cool upgrade and research system! An ending that missed such an awesome opportunity to delve into the series' reputation for crushing hope-spots and brilliant Xanatos gambits! A hyper-competitive online community which shows ZERO sympathy for newbies, brutally crushing them with the most basic of rushes! Such joy!

Like:

  • Command & Conquer 3: There's no Mammoth MKII walkers!!! The music gets repetitive! The game's economy and overall speed promotes tank spam and is WAYYYY too fast for most RTS players! They killed Slavik and Oxanna offscreen!
  • Wargame: European Escalation: There's only one map type - farmlands, the designers obviously had no budget whatsoever when it came to the music or voice-acting, and the finaly mission in the campaign literally has no ending.
  • Assasin's Creed Revelations: The gameplay is getting stale, the automated parkour jumping system is annoying and makes me jump in the wrong direction often, and the missions are becoming too scripted and railroaded (the freedom of choosing how to approach a mission from ACI is something I liked).
  • Mass Effect 3: ...Do I even need to explain this one?
