I look at this, and all I can feel is anger that it isn't Dungeon Keeper.

Players will build a lair with their mischevious imps, and protect it against invading heroes with minions, traps and spells.

Oh wow. I think 'ripoff' is more appropriate than clone.

Who gives a shit if it's a "ripoff".

What's the difference between "ripoff" and "clone"?

Dungeon Keeper 3 isn't coming. If Impire is basically a next-gen DK...

Just released today. All I can find is an enthusiastic preview from Escapist Magazine.

I'd buy it, but Evil Genius disapointed me so bad, not really feeling like taking the gamble.

Hrrrm, a Dungeon Keeper clone developped in my city? Guess I gotta buy it then.

Well, this is shit. Icons were unreadable. Tried tweaking the resolution, game went into windowed mode, now can't revert it because the mouse pointer will select things outside the window even when you press buttons in the window.

There's literally no resolution that works. Every time I wind up with stuff cropped off the screen. Doesn't help that I'll set a resolution, the game reboots, then the options will display me at being at a different resolution.

K, not as Dungeon Keeper-ish as it seemed. If anything it takes cues from Evil Genius (Having to do raids and missions by sending minions out, tagging intruders for capture or death, having a hero unit).

Also you directly control your minions like pretty much any RTS units, and there's not a lot of control on your dungeon design. Rooms have a pre-designed layout, and you don't wind up building that much from what I see so far.

There's some DK elements, but don't go in this game expecting a Dungeon Keeper with a new name on it.

Yeah, this plays nothing like Dungeon Keeper at all. Cosmetic similarities for sure, but in terms of gameplay, it plays different.

[up]&[up][up] Pretty much my stance on it.

The Hero system sucks . Heroes attack every 10 min, in a simple system (First ladders which you get 1 min to destroy, then heroes arrive from surviving ladders or dungeon entrance.

Heroes don't ever pose a challenge. It's just plain busy work, Every 7 minutes you stop whatever you are doing. "Okay, return to base, go make the creatures eat. Prepare to knock down the ladder. The heal the troops after battle" It grinds the game to a halt. A mission which should be doable in 30 min take 3 hours because you constantly need to return.

The amount of Micro is really annoying for someone expecting Dungeon Keeper.
