Eh, I'm kinda iffy on bringing in alternate reality characters (at least, too many at a time) it can be confusing; just look at the mess currently going with Spider-Man (and whose bright idea was it to do a SECOND Clone Saga anyway!?!)

Anyway, yeah, let's archive the threads and start a new one, simply titled "Justice Avengers: A New Beginning" or something like that. You don't have to bring *all* the characters over to New York, instead anyone playing them decides which to use and how to get them there. Finally, the focus of the game should start with tying up any plots left hanging (but only if they are important enough.)

Yeah I admit that AU universes/timelines just cause continuity messes and confusions. But I find a bit sad when a character won't be seen or played again. You guys might know wich ones I'm referring to.

Thank you for taking what I said into consideration , Liz. and I think what you're suggestion, Sijo sounds good. Everyone converging into NY sounds ideal. (After all they can still have adventures elsewhere like in space).

I would only suggest that there would also be a new sign up thread. ,so that new potential players can easily see this is a new game they can join.

Also as for logistics. I would suggest to have a list of active characters on that new thread in the OP so that anyone can see which characters are up for grabs.

I can do a unofficial list here of accepted active characters if you want.

Thank you for considering!

Sijo: Understood, I'll have a limit in place on how many alternates can be included. I can't promise I'll rule out alternates entirely because, well...I love the multiverse trope. I mean, really love it. Like a whole lot.

Legend: Thanks for volunteering to do the list of characters, but I feel it's my duty as Grand GM to compile the lists myself. However, I can send you what I assemble if you'd like to proof-read, or suggest any characters that I'd forgotten.

Now then, the meat of the task. I will, as suggested, launch a new sign-up thread, followed by a new gameplay thread where all the settings can co-exist. Call me sentimental, though, but I kind of want to hang onto the original four for later usage, maybe for private interactions or something like that. However, I'll call in a favour from an old friend, and see about archiving the story so far, in case the threads are left inactive for too long and get shut down by the powers that be.

As for loose ends, here is how things stand, as far as I recall.

  • New York: Most everyone's heading down to Manhattan to deal the Weeper/the missing girl in Little Saigon. Plus there's the whole election thing that could affect the world at large.
  • Jump City: Most everyone's stuck in the past right now, in the middle of some fight scene or other. Sharknado, I know this is heartbreaking to hear, but I think the time has come to put the plot thread to sleep, in the manner of Million Dollar Baby.
  • Hub City: Owing to my failure to spin two plates at once, the Silvermane duo are still stuck fighting police sentinels, with the two ladies on the way to assist. Plus there's the whole election thing that would mostly affect just this city.
  • Space: Most everyone's on Oa awaiting their marching orders, while the Champion of the Universe is running around loose somewhere.

Hmm, so like the dimensional hub thing they had in Exiles? Interesting. You could start to have bad guys bleed over from one to another too. "Hey, why is there a Manhunter running around Jump City?" Venom symbiotes start infecting Oa, that kind of thing. But I'm throwing wood onto a fire that hasn't even sparked, so I'll shut up.

Another suggestion: we could have the new thread start with a time skip, summing up the events of the previous threads but assuming some time - maybe a few days- have gone by, enough time for many plots to have wrapped up off-panel. Details can be given later if necessary.

Good thought, but there's the issue of the dominos from the current events. If I remember right, Silvermane went to the station with the explicit goal of extracting someone, and it would be slightly awkward for the heroes on Oa to be sitting around for a whole week while the Champion was wreaking havoc elsewhere. Besides, I was kind of hoping that the Weeper plot could lead into a thing or two directly afterwards.

Then again, with all the locations essentially taking place on a floating timescale up until now, we can pick a different skipping point for each of them and arbitrarily call it the present. Just far enough into the future to get to the good stuff. Alternatively, the new thread could provide the timeskip, while we wrap up the minutiae in the individual threads.

As another suggestion:

I'm thinking that we could justify plot wise all heroes gathering in New York.

Maybe a new secret evil/power/villain/Crisys/plot device rises on New York and this makes everyone to gather in one place to deal with it. I think it will be hard to keep the playable characters still separated, geographically.

Young Justice solved this by using Zeta tubes teleporters to let the heros have one HQ, and still let the heros travel throughout the world without problem.

The guardians of the universe could give the heros in OA a mission on earth, and the heroes on jump city could come to help with the crisis, and the villains on Hub could be drawn by it as well.

That's just an idea though. I'm sure Liz could think of something even better and cooler.

I think seizing the floating timelines would help a lot. And probably I think it would be best to time skype 90% of the plots and start fresh on the new thread.

I know it's painful, but I think only New York's has players still actively playing the current plots to justify continuing playing them (like the current weeeper plot).

The others like those in Jump city don't have enough activity or players to play them through I am afraid. Like Sijo said, it will best to time skip and summarize what happened during the interim for the other games instead.

Admittedly teleporters have long been a classic Justice League feature. OTOH if we introduce them, Access becomes (even less) useful, and we are faced with the "hey waitaminute why don't the heroes share that tech with the rest of the world?" question that the comics never did address.

Access could be the official teleported instead of the zeta tubes. The last thing I want is affecting Access.

Regardless I feel like we need teleporting in some form , because that way we could keep all the cities still be part of the games and the cast of all games could work together ( which would increase activity )

Even if it's the same thread, having two players in hub city and one in Jump living their lives as if thery were still 3 different games will not work, sadly. But having the heroes team up to go to Jump city in a group of 6 for a mission? that's much better.

These are just suggestions btw. Liz has the last word as always.

Honestly I'd prefer Quinjets (which are Avenger vehicles, Thank You Very Much SHIELD TV show). The Justice League also had their own special jets at some point (I forget what they were called right now.)

Quinjets sounds good to me. If teleportation portals do become a thing in the future, then I'd first like to devote some time to them being invented in the first place. All in all, some interconnectivity between the locations could only be good for the game, just so long as it isn't a case of all the superheroes of one city jumping ship to the next, and essentially abandoning their old home to criminals.

Right, here's my plan. I'm going to continue the mars ship and Hellfire Club threads up to a good pause point. If the other heroes haven't even MET the Weeper by that point, then I'm afraid we might have to leave it with the heroes finding the bodies and the vague hint of someone fleeing the scene. Meanwhile, I'll update the lists of presumably active characters and NPC's, while also working on a signup sheet for Justice Avengers Implosion.

Like, conclude the Weeper plot entirely or just this scene?

Depends how much further the Weeper's story has the potential to go for. Can you see him launching further attacks than this?

Eeyup, plus the thing with Godfrey. It's meant to be a sporadic thing, an extra problem between the rest.

I insist that Access's priority right now is to go get Doctor Fate and let HIM handle Weepy.

Just edited my current post to include Access. Guess I shouldn't have dilly dallied with that posting... Well anyway, with that said, we'll be calling an end to this current Weeper encounter soon enough, but we can leave the rest of GoA's plot to be resolved in the combined game.

Sijo from Puerto Rico Since: Jan, 2001

Oh Man, Access isn't going to be happy. But hey, I get to play a freaked-out hero. evil grin

Let's see, next logical step? Find someone else who deals with Magic. Doctor Strange would be logical but they don't know about him yet, do they? How about Raven? Sure her player is no longer available but she could be an NPC. Hey, that gives me an idea. How about if Access goes to Miss Martian to ask about her? That would serve as a mini-crossover of sorts (even if only so Access can meet the guys in the bioship, and warn them about The Weeper.)

Regarding Osborn: Whoa, that was dramatic. Good job, LoA, even though I'm not clear on what exactly Osborn did to deserve that. But his reaction was priceless. I wonder if a certain Goblin will show up looking for revenge later... wink

Hmm, guess I didn't put that much thought into whether the punishment was proportionate or not. I just thought I'd make the title of "poor, disgraced Osborn" official... Eh, worth it for the reference alone.

Now, back to the matter at hand. Yes, Miss Martian and Raven sound like viable options. Considering the last place Oni-Lord left Raven, I might even be able to salvage an old plot idea.

EDIT: Lightbulb moment here, I was thinking about how to properly incorporate the Space cast in JA Implosion when it struck me that they have their ticket back already! Lo and behold, Ghiata already said she can conjure up a portal any time, so they can hop to earth to get involved in the crossover thingy I conjure!

WOW. Osborn's REALLY taking it hard. Almost like membership into the Hellfire Club is a family tradition, and Osborn struck pay dirt by being in the Inner Circle. XD

Again, worth it for the reference. I could say his dad, a failed business inventor, got turned down so often for the Hellfire Club it formed part of Osborn's obsession with success. That, and/or his plans for the White House were riding on this membership.

Off-topic, but fun: https://www.facebook.com/UnlikelyHeroesSuper/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf

Its about an independent superhero comic book. While the characters are likely expies of more famous ones, the art looks professional and the kickstarter trailer itself is a hoot to watch! [lol]

Dropping a quick news update, folks: The formal registry of the Justice Avengers universe is well underway. I've created a Google document, and I'm going through the Sign-Up threads page by page, marking down all the entries and assembling them into groups, writing notes of significant baggage certain characters have accumulated. I've even assigned a colour code: Gold for active characters new players can't pick, Silver for characters abandoned fairly recently that the former players might still want back, Bronze for characters long abandoned where the odds of their former owners returning are next to nil, and plain Black for NPC's that I wouldn't necessarily be averse to people picking up.

Blah de blah blah, here's what I have so far. I've only gone through the New York signups, but I've sorted out characters that wound up being used in other games. Feel free to comment and suggest changes/additions.
