Fair enough, but this seems to be taking the route that it's Watchmen's fault and not the people who took the wrong lessons from it, which is simplistic in its own way. I'm not saying this as a Watchmen fan either (I was a fan up until I was like 16 or 17), I'm just tired because there's no way this is going to be their last reboot and this looks like a sign they're running out of ideas, big time.
Well, the Justice League can't punch the writers, Watchmen has to symbolize that lesson that people didn't understand.
My various fanfics.I think there's an interview where Geoff Johns says Dr. Manhattan will be an antagonist but not a villain, so eh on punching.
Also, he's omnipotent; IDK what punching him will accomplish.
Well, not literally punching him, obviously, but you know what I meant. Silly goose.
My various fanfics.Say what Justice League episode had Johns as a villain?
I blame Frank Miller. The Dark Knight Returns and Daredevil: Born Again were very popular in the mid 80s and unlike Watchmen, they weren't exactly made as some elaborate deconstruction/fuck you towards superhero comics, making it easier for writers to copy all the nit and grit and put it into other stories. Mind you, I like the guy more than most people these days.
Legends. I don't think it was the writer's real intentions, that's just what I like to imagine.

"@[=g3,8d]&fbb=-q]/hk%fg"I blame a fundamental misunderstanding of what maturity is. The New 52 was less interested in telling stories that are actually mature and more interested in getting rid of Superman's shorts and proving Aquaman is totes hardcore and not lame.
Also I've been reading Justice League 2011, and that may be influencing my distaste towards Johns. It's...not good, but I'm only 8 issues in.
Honestly, I loved Justice League 3000 once I realized it was a satirical indictment of the entire New 52.
My various fanfics.I've heard good things about that one. I might check it out someday.
@Sijo: I just want to point out that Tandy's powers are still light-based and Ty's are still darkness-based.
Huh? I thought they had been switched.
Their power sets were switched, but not their power sources. Dagger/Ty creates daggers of Darkforce energy, Cloak/Tandy is made of light, can teleport, and go intangible.
That is... confusing, honestly. But hey, it's your characters. I'll edit my post accordingly.
Reposting from Battleworld:
That really sucks! But do your best to get better at your own pace- don't try to push it too fast.
Get better, brosuke.
My various fanfics.Rest well, Strat
@Sijo: err, both did say something. Wes even suggested places to start
......did Tails Dollar say he was the new GM of Hub City? When's he gonna start?

"Well before, I did it with reckless abandon. Now I can't control myself!" ~ Jesse Cox, 2014Slend: I mean after that. They don't seem to have agreed to a plan yet. Axel is getting the impression they are more interested in watching Godfrey than in helping him right away. (But then he's not the brightest guy around, which I wanted to point out too.)
Review of DC's Rebirth: [1] Note: It's an hour long. TLDR: Good Comic, but Johns still sucks.

I got worse. No post today. We'll see about tomorrow.
Have you seen a doctor yet?
Yes. I just need to rest a lot.
Then rest well, Strat, with warm blankets and medicinal drinks round the clock.
In the meantime, I just found this and was reminded of an idea somebody had for a universe where all the characters are professional wrestlers.
It's not that Watchmen made things dreary, it's that Watchmen's success made everything dreary, because everyone saw how much money Watchmen made without the why of its success and what the real story of Watchmen was meant to be and it became an arms race to see who could be the grimmest, grittiest, most "mature" story. And I don't even like Watchmen.
