I'm racking my brain, trying to think of specific Simpsons episodes in which Disco Stu appears. I know a great resource for framegrabs (here so I'll get back to this thread as soon as I find an image that shows Disco Stu with other Springfield residents, clearly showing that he's standing out.

This IM Db list of Stu's appearances might help (though there are probably a lot more episodes which also feature him, just less prominently). Edit: The Simpsons wiki has a more extensive list here.
I looked through all the episodes from IM Db on the site linked above, but couldn't really find a good frame that gives him context... I'll link some of the caps that might still work better than the current page image though: [1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊ [4]◊ [5]◊ (also I just noticed Homer's missing an arm in one of those, weird)

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.I think the image itself is fine, but maybe the caption could be tweaked to demonstrate that this character is dressing this way well after the death of disco. Something like "The year is 2012 and he's still acting like this".
Good call, but better to not reference the current year. That will change.
Edited caption to: Those shoes have been out of style for decades.
...but I think the image could be better also. From screenshot above (^^), bug removed:

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. This◊ is a frame of Homer pointing out that Stu's disco platforms have dead fish in them.
I'm fine with the above suggestion as well.

Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
Ok, it's the Trope Namer, apparently.
Too bad it doesn't illustrate. The trope is all about the contrast between the character and the context. Disco Dan is only Disco Dan if Disco Is Dead.
Let's find a pic with that contrast.
