For some clarity:
Its:
"...a new platform feature that enlists the community’s help in selecting some of the next games to be released on Steam.
Steam Greenlight will allow developers and publishers to post information and media about their game in an effort to convince the Community that their game should be released on Steam. Greenlight piggybacks on Steam Workshop’s flexible system that organizes content and lets customers rate and leave feedback.
As well as serving as a clearing house for game submissions, Greenlight will provide an incredible level of added exposure for new games and an opportunity to connect directly with potential customers and fans."

So its for indie games?
I don't imagine any mainstream publishers would have difficulty getting content released, on Steam or otherwise.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"This makes me happy.
It's for everyone, but it'll certainly help indie games get the kind of exposure they need to sell well on Steam.
I have a message from another time...People complain on the Steam forums about so and so game not being approved by Steam, so this will help to get them on it.
DumboSo it's Kicksteamer?
Steamstarter?
I have a message from another time...Steamkicker?
This is completely different from Kickstarter. The only similarity here is that it asks the public to weigh in. Why the comparisons? ._.
Sounds good! One question though: let's say someone tries to nominate a flash game, or something that doesn't meet Steam's minimum requirements. Would Steam reject it, or have to honor the nomination and accept it?
I'm pretty sure the press release said that all Greenlight does is make them give it a look after hitting X votes. At no point do they say that stuff that's voted in will go up automatically.
So Unepic now actually has a chance of being released on Steam?
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.^^ Yeah it's a much better system tan the or in Apple App Store at least...
Finally indies will have a good way to propose their game to Valve!
Give me cute or give me...something?
