No no, I'm not against either thing. Boxing can certainly be learned on rural communities, and even small towns have internet these days. Though having her be a full hacker did feel a bit of stretch to me. But remember, it isn't my opinion that matters here, it's Lizard's.

After speaking with the Aus, the great and powerful, I, hopefully, came up with a better iteration of Captain Marvel, that utilizes the lore much more closely [lol]

  • Name: Captain Marvel
  • Real Name: William 'Billy' Batson / Mar-Vell
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Early Teens (Same age as his twin sister, Mary) / Late 20's
  • Appearance: [1] Billy is a pretty unimpressive kid. Standing at 5'8, he's pretty short for his age.
[1] Captain Marvel, on the other hand, is a much more imposing figure. Standing at 6'4, He has a look befitting a stoic Kree warrior.
  • Alignment: Good
  • Personality: Billy is a bit naïve but ultimately very well intentioned. He enjoys helping others, and is easily excited at the thought of doing so. Growing up with the Bromfield's, he was raised to be friendly, especially to those less fortunate. As a result, he's quite charitable and big-hearted, sometimes to the chagrin of his father. He also grew up being quite charismatic, partly due to his father's own charming nature. He enjoys being around other people, making friends, and even hates the idea of someone eating alone and hates even more when someone bullies someone into eating alone. He really, really hates bullies. Growing up idolizing the heroes of yesteryear, his values were always geared towards using your abilities and talents to better the world, and bullies do the exact opposite of that. You'd have to mess up pretty bad to get on Billy's bad side, but it is bound to happen if you're not a very nice person. Mar-Vell is much more reserved than the bombastic Billy. Longing for his home planet, He likes to keep to himself, and enjoys silent contemplation. Still, he is someone who is fascinated by Earth, and Earth culture and his experiences on the planet have only made him want to explore more.Like Billy, Mar-Vell has a sense of duty to watch over, and protect those incapable, or unable to protect themselves, and can be quite naïve himself . He sees great potential in humanity, even if he's saddened by being unable to return home. Unlike Billy, he likes to think with logic and reasoning over emotion, so there is a constant conflict between the two ideologies no matter who's in control.
  • Powers and Abilities: Through the power of the Nega-Bands, Mar-Vell is capable of flight, super-speed, superhuman strength, agility, and reflexes, Photon energy blasts, and grants him virtual invulnerability
  • Weapons and Equipment: The Nega-Bands that have bonded to Billy's wrists, without them he, and subsequently Captain Marvel would be powerless.
  • Origin: Mar-Vell, a proud Kree scientist for the military, had discovered that his special appearance that had been the cause ridicule and the derogatory "pink Kree" slur, had been the result of Kree and human interbreeding. Rather than being disgusted by the idea, Mar-Vell was interested in cooperating with the human's once more and learning from them, and in turn teaching them the ways of the Kree. This line of thought would lead to Mar-Vell being banished from the planet Hala, and stricken from the Kree history records. Vell was forced to leave behind a loving mate and his home he had adored. Befitting the crime, he was banished to Earth, the planet he showed affection for.

On Hala, he was considered weak, but the Kree had evolved to combat creatures unknown to humans, and was considerably stronger and faster than the average human. Discovering these abilities, Mar-Vell decided to use his abilities to do what he felt his own people should have and defended the city of Metropolis, hoping to further human advancement without issue. His heroics hadn't gone unnoticed, however. Lex Luthor, a big name in the city of Metropolis, opened a hand to the city's new defender and was quite hospitable to the Kree. Mar-Vell had felt as if Luthor was something of a kindred spirit and friend on this planet, being a fellow scientist, and interested in mutual learning. Mar-Vell would learn about the human experience and technology, while Luthor would gain information on Kree technology, if his people had ever decided to invade.

One way Luthor had 'learned' about the Kree was to have tests performed on Mar-Vell. While Mar-Vell didn't object, he would later come to learn that these tests would lead to him contracting 'Blackend', a form of cancer caused by a form of gas Luthor had used to test of Mar-Vell. Distraught at this news, Mar-Vell had decided to seek out a way to save himself so he could continue to defend this planet and hopefully spare his friend Luthor from having to watch him die, believing it was his fault. Unfortunately, his travels through the galaxy would come up fruitless for a cure to his ailment.

That is, until, he stumbles upon a strange man and a strange train. This train would take Mar-Vell to an odd plain of existence that seems to warp time. It's here that he encounters the great wizard, Shazam, a defender in his own right. Weak, and near death, Mar-Vell begins to plead his case with the wizard in hopes of finding some cure. The wizard stops him however, aware of his story and his good deeds on Earth. Vell is dismayed to learn, however, that there is no cure for his cancer in existence....for even magic would fail the Kree. Still, wishing to pay the hero his dues, he promises to find someway to allow him to live on, and sends him to the 'Negative' Zone, a place where time ceases to exist. While there, he lives on indefinitely until the wizard can find some way to help him...

Billy and Mary Batson were twins born to two kind, humble parents. They weren't very well-off, but they truly loved their children. Unfortunately, the young twins would never come to truly know their parents as a tragic car accident takes their lives', but sparring the twins. A maid by the name of Sarah Primm had come across the children, discovering that her brother had something to do with this 'accident', saves the children from the wreckage, and to spare them from any persecution from her brother, she splits the two, handing off the girl in the care of the orphanage she had grown up in, and the boy in the hands of her childless employers, the Bromfield's.

The Bromfield's did the best they could to try and raise the precocious and equally rambunctious Billy, but he had a knack for tearing things a part and trying to put them back together. Nick Bromfield was actually something of an entertainment mogul, and worked with a lot of big talents, and even owned his own radio station. This allowed Billy to mess with all of these new gadgets and toys...and take them apart. His curiosity would often get the best of him, even if it made his father angry. Billy would eventually go to prep school in Fairfield and meet a lot of new friends, and generally get along with most people he met. His grades wouldn't be so great, on account of his constantly wandering mind, but he was certainly inventive and loved creating things out of other things. The only thing that would get Billy riled up would be when he saw some kids pick on other kids. It didn't matter the reason, Billy couldn't stand for someone imposing over someone else. This would often lead to Billy getting into fights with other kids, and getting in trouble.

Billy's father Nicholas, was generally unhappy with Billy constantly getting into trouble, and was running out of ways to punish this kind of behavior. Nora, his wife and Billy's adopted mother, suggested giving Billy an outlet to vent his frustration's rather than punishing him outright. Nick decided to let Billy, a young teenager at this point, his own radio show/podcast. Of course, Billy jumps at the opportunity and takes to it quickly! His show, WHIZ, was mostly about him talking about tech and new and interesting inventions, but of course, Billy also was something of a hero-worshipper, and dedicated a large part of his show to talking about/gushing about the heroes he'd heard about in the news to give hope to his listeners. This would cut down on the fights, Billy would get into, but his intolerance for bullying would never die.

One evening, on the way home from recording, Billy hears what seems to be a frail man calling out for help in an alleyway. Unable to just walk away, he dashes into the fray to try and help out, only to discover a wizened old man waiting for him. Hesitant at first, the old man reassures Billy that he doesn't intend to harm him, and does, in fact, hope that he'll be able to assist him after all. He tells Billy the tale of Captain Marvel, and immediately, Billy recognizes the story of the one time hero of Metropolis. He had been wondering where he had gone too, and learns of his issues with Blackend. He is informed by the wizard Shazam, however, that there is a way to save him from his fate. He offers Billy two bands, he refers to as 'Nega-Bands'.

Putting them on, they attach to Billy's wrists, initially frightening him. He is told to call out the wizard's name, and after doing so, Billy immediately traded places with the Kree scientists, Mar-Vell. With Billy in a protective aura that allowed him to survive in the Negative Zone, Captain Marvel was once more in his place. The time he had spent in the Negative Zone had altered his physiology allowing him to metabolize solar energy, and dispel his cancer while absorbing the rays. If he spent too long away from the sun, it would sadly return and he would be forced to trade places with Billy, but thankfully, the two came to an understanding. Billy respected Captain Marvel and wanted him to be the hero he knew he could be. Mar-Vell grew to value Billy's nature and determination, and he would serve as a constant reminder to Mar-Vell of the better aspects of humanity that he had come to cherish.

If there's ever trouble, and Billy's around, he need only call out the name of the wizard who saved the life of a Kree hero.

SHAZAM!

Hmm. Although I still don't see why the two Captain Marvels needed to be merged into the same character, I must admit that was a clever way to do it. Looking forth to see you join us! smile

Correct. But that could have been Mar-Vell before being stuck in the Negative Zone/Anti-Matter Universe (why have more than one?) or maybe it is the Billy/Mar-Vell fusion; the only thing we know about him in this game is that he is a Kree Hero. He probably stayed behind from the mission seen in Starry (as was the case in the comics.)

It's the same Mar-Vell from before. I suggested him since Ocelot was considering using a kree alter ego, and because I felt the Mar-Vell plot thread needed SOME kind of resolution.

Looks OK to me (but how is the Technocrat suit not powerered armor?) You could have him try to step in and fill the void now that Tony Stark has fallen in bad times due to G.Gordon Godfrey.

[up]The are a few differences between exoskeletons (Which the Technocrat 2000 is) and power armor. Basic difference is that exoskeletons only enhances the user's abilities but doesn't protect them, unlike power armor which protects the user from many kinds of damage and (Like Tony's armor) can being equipped with extra features(Like Flying, repulsors blasters, ect) and also enhances the user's abilities. That's the basic deference but there are a few others.

There was another character that I wanted to play as but I couldn't find anything on his powers, weapons, equipment, or abilities so I choose Baron instead.

The Technocrat allows flight and Energy blasts, those aren't just "enhanced abilities." Still we are just arguing semantics by now [lol] In any case welcome to the game, may you have fun!

I don't see why not. The Punisher's been used as a Non-Player Character, mind you, so he would come with a little bit of history attached to him, but I'm sure there wouldn't be any major issues.

Don't think there's too much to report. Several months ago, he got involved in the huge riot outside Jack Ryder's studio when a talk show with mutant community leaders was going on; killed a couple of mutant haters before the other heroes could hold him back. Then he was tracking down Rorschach/Renee Montoya when she got brainwashed by Ra's Al Ghul, found her once she'd come to her senses, and shut down her operation himself. Also, he had Microchip getting him information at one point... aaaand I think that's it.

I should point out that The Punisher is an anti-hero at best, so he probably won't get along with the other PCs. I think he would fit best in the Hub City subgame which was made for villains and anti-heroes.

Don't worry, I'm not planning on making a change until the big bad guy finally shows up.

  • Name: Libra

  • Real Name: Justin Isaac Ballantine

  • Gender: Male

  • Age: Mid 20s

  • Appearance: Here

  • Alignment: Neutral?

  • Personality:

    • Libra is an attention-seeking megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur, a persona he has built after years of being ignored by society. Libra goes out of his way to make sure that his friends, foes, and the public in general are aware of his actions, even if it might get in the way of his plans. Libra believes in various outlandish conspiracy theories and is suspicious of authority figures, though he has some respect for the Justice Avengers. Libra usually reveals the crimes of his victims to the public before he goes in to enact justice.

    • Justin is much more innocuous out of the costume. Quiet, non-confrontational, and friendly in a way, Justin is the opposite of his costumed persona. He hides his more radical beliefs when he is out of costume, and does everything he can to hide the scars of his old life while in civilian form.

  • Powers and Abilities:

    • Hard Knock Life: Libra spent his youth in poverty, and much of his adulthood in prison. He is well-built, has knowledge of organized crime, and able to take a fair amount of abuse.

    • Astrologist/Astronomer: Justin has dabbled in astrology and astronomy throughout his life. While his divination tends to be spotty, his studies of astronomy tend to be more accurate.

  • Weapons and Equipment:

    • Libra Armor: The studded parts of Libra's armor provide limited protection against physical abuse and bullets.

    • Scales and Spear of Libra: Stolen from the prestigious Opal University, this ancient weapon was originally made to honor Themis, a Greek Titaness. It does not seem to posses any special properties.

    • The Prophet's Codex: Once locked away in Opal University, the The Prophet's Codex, more commonly known as the Crime Bible, is an extremely sacrilegious text detailing the exploits of figures such as Cain, Lilith, and Judas, but in a sympathetic light. There are only three known copies of the Crime Bible known to exist, and it is rumored that the cover of each copy is made from the stone that Cain used to murder Abel. The Crime Bible contains various spells and prophecies within its passages, but Libra does not have the capacity to use them, let alone read them.

  • Origin:

    • Justin Ballantine's childhood was not a happy one. Born somewhere in Long Island, Justin's mother died from an overdose. His father turned to drugs to cope with the loss of his wife, but he then died after a violent confrontation with the police, leaving Justin an orphan. Growing up, Justin's only solace was in studying astronomy and astrology, which he only got to dabble in due to his poor background. As he grew up, Justin did everything he could to attend a good university and continue his passion in science, but his plans were disrupted when he was convicted of a crime he did not commit. Experiencing unspeakable horrors in Ryker's Island, Justin became a hardened criminal only after he was convicted, and vowed revenge on the broken society and the corrupt justice system that took everything away from him. While he failed to attend the prestigious Opal University, he did get to pursue his passion for astrology and astronomy behind bars.

    • While in prison, Justin heard stories about New York's various super-criminals, who he believed were victims of society that ultimately got revenge against the law. When he was released, Justin used the money he had saved up to rob the very same university he was planning to attend, and created his own costumed identity, theming himself after the astrological sign, Libra. Libra used social media and public demonstrations to make his name known in New York City, generally calling out figures who have slighted him throughout his life. The actions of G. Gordon Godfrey have riled Libra enough to seek audience with other metaheroes, who he believes are on his side.

There was a time when I would've put up a slightly more strenuous objection to giving a player two major characters at once, but...eh. The Weeper's gone down well enough.
