Depends if they can use the healing moves on people. If they can? Well, then they can heal them.

Stop pushing for historical accuracy when we have dragons around and physics refuses to intervene. ._.

[up]Sorry I'll stop with trying to be historically accurate now and I never really thought of it that way to be honest (Damn sleep deprivation!).

I'll stop being historically accurate and just pay attention to the Rule of Cool.

It makes no sense from a biological point of view either, even taking into account bizarre Pokemon biology. It's a Tropius, not a Kroot.

From a biological standpoint, I see Tropius as being able to eat and consume various fruits that was usually poisonous to most Pokemon, those being rich in caffeine one of them. Because of this, Tropius are able to metabolize caffeine just like humans can, but due to their completely different genetic makeup, the effect it has on their brains is rather.......extreme.

Meaning, minus a few select species, if coffee does not kill a Pokemon, it instead makes them unpredictably hyper.

I can change it if anyone feels that strongly against it.

I feel that strongly against it. Especially because you didn't mention anything to do with growing coffee rather than bananas there. >.>

Pokedex entries are also inherently unreliable. Hi, Magcargo! Vaporised any nearby planet lately?

I feel pretty strongly against it. While we're not going for historical accuracy, I'm pretty sure the presence of coffee on it's own is an anachronism itself.

[up][up] Wait what? Where did they say he can destroy worlds?

I don't really that strongly against it. I dunno. It's not striking any nerves in me.

The pokedex entry for Magcargo:

Its body temperature is roughly 18,000 degrees F. Flames spout from gaps in its hardened shell.

Which is twice the surface temperature of the sun.

...and that's terrible.

It's said to be hotter than the surface of the sun. Bad news for wherever it lives. =P

Any plants available in Medieval Europe that has lots of caffeine? And what about the presence of tea?

Drop the idea, really. It's just forcing a pointless and nonsensical scene and an anachronism.

Nah. According to my research, Tobacco was unheard of in the medieval times, so I guess same is true for caffeine and other narcotics.

But yeah, I say drop it because really, this is just going to be a big deal over what was meant to be a funny scene.

Alright. I could probably have that Tropius be raised by dogs or something.

Here's another idea. The Tropius is of human-level intelligence like every other Pokemon and is not, in fact, an animal. It is not affected by caffiene because there is no caffeine in the setting except for seldom-imported teas from Asia Equivalent. And there is no need for it to act like a dog.

...and that's terrible.

Wouldn't it be slavery of sorts to keep beings of human intelligence in stables, only going outside to transport people?

I... Well, I guess, since it's encouraged that the Crimenians view their Pokemon as human beings.

[up][up]Putting it THAT way, you can say that the stables act like barracks for the Tropius. They're almost exclusively used by the Green Knights to patrol the land, and they are pretty big, so if someone actually owns one they need plenty of room it.

.........I'm now thinking of those scenes from Friendship Is Magic involving the ponies and livestock.

That Tropius is the single most stupid thing I have ever seen involving pokemon. And that's counting the guro bestiality fic.

[up][up]You talking about that fic involving his trainer abusing his Gardevoir in ways that would make Cupcakes look like a Barney episode? If so, I read its Tropes page and avoided looking at it LIKE THE PLAGUE.
