Does anyone have fond memories of Pepper Ann? If so, why?

For me, it was Pepper Ann's mom, Lydia. I like seeing parents in animated shows who are actual characters as opposed to being non-entities or idiots who are oblivious to what their children are doing. She was pretty much a supporting character. It also helps that she was played wonderfully by April Winchell, who was a female Jim Cummings in the sence that she seemed to be in every Disney TV cartoon in the 90s.

But I also liked that it touched upon heavy subjects. For example, there pretty much discussed the Never Speak Ill of the Dead trope. I also remember an episode where it looked like the family cat was going to die (it doesn't) and the discussion is "where do pets go when they die?"

Was it great as Batman or Gargoyles? Not even close. However, as far as slice of life shows with cartoony elements go, this was one of the better ones.

I fucking loved that show! Doubly so now that I realised it was the first series with a female protagonist that I watched

I only have a few memories that are fuzzy about this show. Did the person who created this worked on Codename Kids Next Door? The show's style is similar to that.

[up] No but Tom Warburton (the guy who created Kids Next Door) was the lead character designer for Pepper Ann

On a related note, what was the name of the episode with the In-Between hobo clown?

Not the biggest fan of the show, but I will say this: the intro theme is pretty darn catchy.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

plus the blonde was a vegan, who fell off the wagon after accidentally biting a real burger.

then shown latter tearing into a steak like a beef addict. :D

Y'know, when you think about it that makes a lot of sense.

Anyway, definitely a great show. Great characters, great situations, and hit that line between silly and smartly witty that all the best cartoons do.

Maybe the best show on the One Saturday Morning block, TBH.

I grew up as a One Saturday Morning kid. In fact, that was pretty much my childhood in a nutshell.

Pepper Ann was by far my favorite show when I was about seven, and I never missed an episode on Saturday. In hind site, that's probably why I grew up to be so much like her in my middle school years.

For some reason, I hated it just because I hated the fact that someone would be named Pepper. When I was young I just didn't like it when multiple things had the same name. And in my opinion, it was bad enough that the jalapeƱos in the salsa I love and the black stuff next to the salt have the same name, but now a girl character too?!?

Yeah, my mind worked in bizarre ways.
