Needs Help: Characters.Modern Windows Era

Can you tell what this page is by its name? Of course you can't, because it doesn't mention the title of game series it's for. It's one of four character subpages for the Touhou Project, along with PC 98 Era, Early Windows Era, and Other Official Works. Now, it seems to me that this is a major problem, as it could be confused for a work that's named Modern Windows Era. However, maybe it's not a problem, I'm not sure. Given the way the site works, I'm not sure you can end up on these pages without going through at least some kind of disambiguation page that tells you what's up, and I doubt there'll be much competition for the name.

However, it has other problems. Perhaps most notably, this is an ongoing series which will introduce new characters over time. It's already been discussed that Modern Windows Era is full, and the next game should start a completely new page. What are we gonna call that? Postmodern Windows Era? And what about the one after that? This naming scheme lacks the expandability that would be appropriate for a series like this.

It wasn't always this way. Until quite recently actually, the pages were called Touhou Windows One, Touhou Windows Two etc. And as you can see these are still redirects. Honestly, I'm not sure what the point of changing it was. It broke everyone's watchlists, emptied the discussion pages, and created arguably subpar names that break all the patterns we see elsewhere. There doesn't seem to be any discussion of this change: it just happened one day.

Personally, I'd like to just revert it, but I'm not sure if this kind of thing is actually against site policy. Would reverting it simply be an edit war on my part? Are people allowed to just suddenly decide that they'd prefer the page to have a different name? And even if they are, are the new names against some other site policy?

I did PM the person that did this to ask what the hell they thought they were doing. Apparently the change was to "remove redundancy", and happened to the music pages as well (although when I looked at them they maintained the "Touhou" part of the name). I responded that I thought that keeping the work name in was policy and that s/he shouldn't have acted on their own. Haven't heard back

Put the work's name back. As for how to split them, find the monst convenient way.

Looks like the pages are back under pages with "Touhou" in the name. Anything further needs to be done? I don think that having ModernWindowsEra" as a redirect looks... odd, honestly.
