Basically, there was a scholarship for blacks only. I've seen others too, and It bothers me that I'm disqualified from them just because my ancestors happened to live on a boot-shaped piece of land instead of in Africa. This just rubs me the wrong way, and I wanted to see what others thought of it. I'd understand if this was decades ago, when there was discrimination so that all could get a scholarship of some kind, but that is not today. Wasn't the whole point of the civil rights movement Equality?
To quote MLK, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
What's happened to that?
