Seriously, are the benefits of Roxxon like dental that appealing to Thor that he'd sell out?
Spider-Man is already working for Oscorp....
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. It's not actually magic. It's an in-universe comic published by Roxxon who got the rights to Thor's character.
As for why Roxxon is doing this...well, one of the running themes of Asgardian centric stories in Marvel is how bound they are to causality. Whether it's fate, or narrative. One of the reasons Loki is so powerful is because they became the God of Stories, which grants them influence over the narrative that shapes the Asgardians.
So Roxxon is basically trying to change Thor's very nature by distributing their version of Thor's story.

Disgusted, but not surprisedOh now that is hilarious.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I remember when this arc was first announced I commented on how funny it was for Thor to be fighting copyright infringement, but I’m (not surprisingly) amazed at how well Ewing has tied that to the fluid nature of traditional mythic storytelling.
And it’s still great to have a skull Minotaur in a suit monologuing about content
It's a take on the old Gods Need Prayer Badly trope. Gods like the Asgardians are influenced by what mortals believe.
Control the narrative, and you control belief. Control belief, and you control the god.
Disgusted, but not surprisedReminds me of that time Kingpin bought the rights to Spider-Man back in the Ultimate Universe and legally could make a profit from Spider-Man's image. So no matter what Spider-Man did to his operations, Fisk could turn it back and make money from Spider-Man foiling him.
Now you might think that would make Kingpin a top tier Spider-Man villain, but then he got arrested thanks to trying and failing to kill Moon Knight who then snitched on him in the same arc.
Then Green Goblin came back and started eating cereal in Spider-Man's couch.
Then Kingpin got killed off by Mysterio the next time he showed up.
Like this is such a brilliant waste.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. To note Dario is only able to do this because Amora the Enchantress offered to work with him using her skald magic, the magic to manipulate stories. She came to him with the idea, and he's only able to do all of this cause of her.
She and Executioner are only working with him as apart of a plot to save Thor from a death prophecy by taking his weapons. They want to save him, they just have no problem also beating the crap out of him for all the past bullshit with him.
Thor himself is actually getting weaker and dumber, as the comics Roxxon are publishing are having an effect on him as he's susceptible to the changes of the myths based on his story.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Party Thor was at least nice, Roxxon Thor is a corporate shill.
Executioner is definitely there because Odin put him there with a mission to save Thor. And I don't think Ewing would want to overrule Skurge's finest moment by giving him another Face–Heel Turn.
But Amora's motives are anyone's guess. And Agger is a clear villain, as always. Let's hope this ends less painfully than his Immortal Hulk scheme...
Do you think Roxxon might pull an EA and start making lootbox games starring Thor?
That might actually be something even the God of Thunder can't recover from.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. That's a guarantee. They even have a Fox News equivalent called Roxx News.
Unironically, I’d imagine Roxxon’s media branch would love to have supervillains to show up on their talk shows.
Just imagine the views they’d get if Ultron showed up for a guest appearance.
You can’t, because then Roxxon would get fined by the FCC for Ultron’s rants on TV.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Knowing Ultron, he would actually probably spend the appearance giving a very eloquent, well thought-out discussion of philosophy and politics only to than vaporize the host's head when said host fails to laugh at a joke he made.
RE: Roxxon Thor:
So is he a clone of our Thor or our Thor being brainwashed? Because there's a page where Thor is PISSED at Dario and it's AMAZING.
Also, "For the All-Father hath raised no bums."
Darn, it's going to be a while before I get to current Thor, but Roxxon Thor sound hilarious.
Also after all these years wondering, asking if maybe there was a purpose to this, a destiny awaiting this man, I now know...
Fate allowed Greg Land to keep drawing for that very moment, so that he would one day draw this. 😂
Roxxon Thor is an in-universe comic that seemingly uses Sympathetic Magic to mess with the real Thor.
I think it's supposed to be our Thor but altered by the comic books.
Theoretically, you could use the Cosmic Cube to rewrite any hero into anything you want, right?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.“The Cosmic Cube can do anything”
Anyway, More Earth X
The X still hasn’t been explained to me but maybe Musk owns Earth in the future.
A bunch of circus weirdos become the new X-Men, Reed can stretch his brain to be like Xavier, Hulk goes to the Realm of Death to ask Mar-Vell to interpret a dream, and Uatu bullies Aaron Stack into erasing his own personality.
Just a very odd couple of days.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat reminds me, how is Kobik doing nowadays?
Ultron is DBZA Mr. Perfect Cell confirmed?
Trimming the hedges, one trope at a time. It’s Mr. Perfect Ultron.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. She hasn't been seen since Secret Empire.
And nothing of value, etc
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI can see why they'd shelve her. Association with Grant aside, she is one of those concepts that is difficult to fit in without distorting the story as she is an anthropomorphized Reality Warping Cosmic Keystone. I just figured they had done something with her before than (even if its retruning her into her original state as a powerful but insentient object)
Magic
