I...
You know what? Fine, let him do that. It'll just get retconned away the second someone wants to use him again anyway. Hell, it could be the laziest retcon ever, and I still wouldn't care, because something like that doesn't deserve anything more.
Oh God! Natural light! It was not in the main book it was in occupy avengers. Tilda took over his name and costume after he was killee by hydra fpr being a black man
Who's Nighthawk?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Ah.
Please, next time, mention what title such an event occurs in. That's kind of important.
General sentiment still stands, though. I'm not a Nighthawk fan, but I don't think he's a character you can just kill off to make a political point - if there are any such characters, mind you. Honestly, if you want to do that sort of plot, I honestly think you need to create a one-shot character for such a purpose. Anything else is just disrespectful (not that you couldn't still be disrespectful with such a one-shot character, mind you).

Oh God! Natural light!black dude from the supreme power universe stuck here after secret wars.
yeah sorry
Oh fuck now I remember him. The Squadron Supremes version of Batman only he's an even bigger dick.
Oh shit, I liked that guy.
Wait a minute now who the fuck is Tilda?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mostly remember Nighthawk shooting a grappling hook through someone
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDeadly Nightshade. She was Nighthawk's partner in his recent solo, written by David Walker. Who also writes Occupy Avengers. So I'm pretty OK with him being the one who chose to kill Nighthawk off-panel.
Also, Walker writes the most delightful Tilda Johnson ever, and she was always a pretty fun character. She was the one who turned Steve Rogers into Cap-Wolf back in the day. And Walker writes the best version of her.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. We need to put Cap Wolf and Throg on a special baleful polymorph Avengers
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI...huh.
I had forgotten that he was doing both. That's...unexpected.
Quick question: do we see a body?

Oh God! Natural light! If Nick Spencer hasn't lost anymore respect from the comic book world, then this will be the nail in the coffin.
Yeah is there a body?
Cause if there ain't fuck it he's not dead.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."There's a body. Of course, this is comics. Even when there is a body, it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. Is he unmasked? Because I'm wondering if it could just be some guy in a suit.
How do they find out that he's dead, anyway?

Oh God! Natural light! Why couldn't Riki Williams (aka the face of everything wrong with Marvel Comics right now) have been the mole.
Oh shit speaking of Riri Williams:
I read her character page & it said some weirdass shit about her having an argument about her teacher so I checked the comic & so what the fuck was that? For some reason she had an argument with her teacher during elementary school for not being a racist & putting her down. What was Bendis going for there exactly?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."He's unmasked. He wasn't wearing his costume when it happened. We don't find out how the Occupy learned about his death, but Tilda was wearing his costume, which means they had to have stopped off at his HQ.
Because Bendis wouldn't have allowed that. Riri is his character. Bobbi would have no one fighting for her right now, or at least no one Spencer would give enough of a shit about to listen to.
Edit: Yeah, that scene was, uh, weird. Presumably, it was meant to show that Riri was determined from an early age, and wanted a challenge. But it did raise a lot of eyebrows. A lot of black people found it stupid, especially with a white guy writing it.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. Her name is Riri.
And I'm pretty sure that having a black girl be secretly working for Hydra would A) make no sense, and B) would be incredibly offensive. Now, that is already the case for much of this event, but if you want to make it better, that is absolutely the wrong approach.
I suppose she could be brainwashed, but considering how you seem to view her, I take it that wouldn't satisfy you.
Wait...we don't see them finding out?
How exactly is this revealed, anyway?

Oh God! Natural light!Yeah & not a very good origin for a superhero. Spiting your teacher over a fake slight, not very mature even for a kid.
Also that they didn't give a name to the scientist she's apparently inspired by made it feel more artificial.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Why all the hating on Riri? Sadface.
As much flak as we give Marvel, I do think that kerfluffle about her teacher was people reading too much into it. I just took it to mean that the teacher was telling her that she can do anything her that she can put her mind to.
As for Bobbi, it is unfortunate but like Tiamatty said, she's a character that not a lot of people would be too upset about being HYDRA and just high-profile enough to be something of a big deal. And she currently doesn't have a book.
We see Nighthawk, out of costume, get shot and killed.
Yeah, it might have been better to include her name. I'm sure most older readers would know it was Mae Jemison, but a lot of younger readers, including teens, wouldn't know who that is. Including her name would've given them someone to actually read about.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. The teacher wasn't the issue, it was Riri's reaction to it.
She got into an argument with her because she acted kind 7 supporting instead of racist or condescending to her. The despite being explained in a polite way that she really can be anything she wants she just stays mad & stands there with this pissed off expression for what I'm assuming is over a minute.
She then just randomly says she can't be Tony Stark t & Riri takes it as a challenge despite it being clearly a joke. The whole thing is just weird in general.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You could interpret it as Riri has read/seen too many inspirational stories about gifted children who succeed despite authority figures dimissing them, and was pissed that her teacher wasn't helping her invoke the trope.
I don't know if that Abed-eqsue behavior fits Riri's characterization, though.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoThat's how I kinda saw it though I suppose it could be construed the other way.
I should have known.
