I started to get in the habit of writing short stories. They are based around themes in my novel without being directly being affiliated to it.

I've done three so far. Wondering if others would be interested in getting in on the themed short story bandwagon or if others do something similar.

Details on the themes are on my blogspace, if anyone is interested in that.

I think I might have said elsewhere, but I think supplementary short stories are a great idea, at least if you're stuck or want to get more depth in your main thing. Of course any time spent working on short stories is time not spent working on the actual thing so it's not ideal if you have deadlines to meet.

It's not something I do very often though, because I have trouble coming up with plots and having to start from scratch every time is difficult. Although that probably means I should do it more since I evidently need the practice.

I figure it's win-win. Might actually get a concept out of one I would want to pursue. Got pretty good feedback from the Fin story so far. I'm really proud of the use of a sling in particular. That might seep over into the novel actually.
