He dashes off, accidentaly knocking over the secretary in the process.

That's my assistant, uh, Thought Cloud. He's pretty good, though he can occasionally be a little absentminded. Why don't you tell me a bit about yourself while he's out reporting our results? Do you know anything about the dragon?

Who is supposed to know who at the start?

How is finding a dragon a surprise? They tend to be rather large and easy to spot, especially the one that we just saw. Was there anything unusual about this dragon? Did he mention why he wanted to find it? I guess I'll proceed on the assumption that Private and Cloud are already friends then.

The dragon, while large, did not seem fully grown. It would have battled to carry off an additional pony.

" H-he wanted...he wanted to get something...from the dragon. He said that Trottingham didn't have anything good enough, so he had to...had to see if he could get something from the dragon."

I'm going to treat this as socialising. The secretary gets 1 die for wisdom, 1 for judge, 3 for loyalty and 2 for her relationship with the mayor. She gets 5 achievement points.

The secretary breaks down sobbing. " All right! I'll tell you everything! The Mayor wanted to impress his girlfriend, Miss Star Shine! He wanted to propose to her, but he decided that non of the jewellers had good enough gems. So he went to the dragons cave to get the best gem he could find! I don't know what he did with it!"

Enter in a blue roan pony wearing a scratched gold monocle, large red bow tie, a threadbare black tuxedo and top-hat with more bends in it than an accordion. He bows deeply and then starts speaking in at a rapid-fire pace.

"Pardon my interruption, Silly Hooves - Equestrian Diplomatic Corps. I couldn't help overhearing your conversation and it troubles me greatly. This could spark a diplomatic crisis. Was the Right Honourable Mayor aware of the implications of what he was doing? Where is Miss Star Shine now? Did you get a chance to look at the gem? Finally and most importantly did you see a juggling ball roll in here?"

"Can't say I know where any dragons are from but we have a saying in the EDC and that's 'Dragons are diplomatic crises.'"

He takes his monocle off and slips it into the inside breast pocket.

"Nut bunnies that juggling ball has eluded me again."

I was under the impression that the EDC's motto is "Everything is a diplomatic crisis. And if it isn't, we'll intrude anyway and make it one." Oh well, we better see if Star Shine knows anything about what is going on.

Clouds dashes back in, making sure not to hit the secretary this time.

"Sorry I had to go like that. Did you find out anything new, sir?"

The secretary said that the mayor went to a dragon cave to try to steal a jewel. Also, a diplomat named Silly Hooves showed up.

Gives Private Eye a big grin.

"We have a lot of sayings it's what keeps us busy when we're not busy."

Returning his attention back to the secretary.

"Just give me the address of Miss Star Shine I have to send a message back to Canterlot first."

" It should be easy to find. It stands out. Tell her that Key Board sent you and that you're trying to help Mayor Desk Job."

Bramble facehooved. "Stealing from a Dragon? That never ends well," he muttered.
