While Alice busied herself with the far less interesting task of cleaning up after herself, she heard some music playing faintly - and weird noises alongside it. Curiously, she searched around for the source, wondering if it perhaps came from the girl up in the tree. How long had she been up there? Did she even help?

...Well, didn't matter if she had, really. Their job was done. Alice picked up a second bucket, then turned to inspect the monument they'd cleaned off with a small smile. She shivered, but ignored the sudden chill. All in all, good job, right? You wouldn't have believed that someone had-

The crashing had come so suddenly, Alice had screamed so damn loud. She stumbled backwards, dropping the buckets and tripping over her own feet. Too shocked to move any more, Alice simply lay there, panting heavily as her heart thudded rapidly against her ribs. What... what the hell? Another crashing sound made her yelp once more, and she quickly scurried away, further from the monument.

"What the fuck?" Hanako asked, eyes widening as she closed the laptop's lid and quickly—but carefully—put it back into its case. Time to be going home, now... the sound of cracking stone, sight of cracking stone, and reappearance of the damn vandalism was creepy. This had better be a bad dream. Go home, get in bed, wake up. Something like that, yeah.

The golden-eyed girl jumped off of the tree branch and walked—not ran, walked, she didn't want to trip or anything—slowly away from the monument.

Ichigo had nodded to the departing teacher, turning to start collecting up all the supplies to be saved. Really with this many people present it wouldn't take until complete sundown to finish, and hopefully everyone would head home as instructed. She'd just set down the last piece of equipment in her hands when a chilly wind suddenly kicked up. Dressed as lightly as she was Ichigo immediately shivered and wrapped her arms around herself.

"What's going on?" She didn't remember anything like this being in the forecast. The loud crack that rang out caused her to jump and turn towards its source, noticing the weird splashes of what looked like paint that had seemingly manifested out of nowhere. Something was going on with that monument! Ichigo backed away a bit, unsure of what else to do at the moment.

Having put away both her own and her little brothers equipment while he napped Nao had tried to avoid making him wake up and carry him home when she heard the music and turned around just in time for the crash.

"What the... Fuck?" She asked nobody in particular as she stared at the cracks that started to appear in the monument

The first thing Hana noticed was the stench. She sniffed, and made a face. This certainly wasn't pleasant. She looked around, and noticed that a splotch of colour appeared on the monument.
Wait a second, she thought, didn't we clean it?
She turned back to the shed, intent upon taking a sponge, a bucket and some water and cleaning the monument again, when the wind picked up. She shivered, but nonetheless walked toward it, holding a bucket in one hand and a sponge in another.
Then the crashes began, and she dropped the things in surprise.
"What is that?" she asked, surprised.

Larissa wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings. Instead, she had literally fallen asleep on the ground nearby. The only thing to awaken her was the music. "H-huh...?" she yawned and shook her head. "Ahhh..." she mumbled under her breath before standing up. "W-what's.. going on? Can ye tell me what's going on...?" she yawned once again and stepped forward, trying to grasp the situation.

"Eh?" she looked up at the monument. "Aye thought we were supposed to be cleaning this junk?"

Sergei grimaced as things became stranger and stranger. He was having trouble believing his eyes. What the hell was going on? It seemed that the others were wondering the same thing, at least if their comments were any indication.

"Uh... what do we do?" Sergei's voice held a clear sense of uncertainty. After all, they had never had to deal with something as unearthly as this in their entire lives.

Orihime was walking nearby when she got shocked when the statue began to crumble. She wanted to get closer, trying to not be seen or heard, as she wasn't supposed to be on the outside, as she made a fake call saying she was sick in order to check the park on the morning.

What's going on? she thought...

Masuko, noticing the slightly older girl who had fallen over and panicked, ran over to her. Her first instinct was to attempt to help her up and to her feet. She was scared, but... she was definitely going to help people, especially the person who had wanted to help her out earlier. It would be terrible not to do so! And whatever was going on... it... was it evil spirits?! Yokai?! Ghosts?!

"Are you okay?!" Masuko asked as she tried to help the girl up.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

<OOC: And now to introduce a non-magical girl/boy that daltar allowed me to control. S/he*

also allowed me to post a few details.>

While the loud music did not wake up Ryota, the crashing sound that kept on coming from the shrine definitely did. On his sister's back, he opened his eyes to see there was paint on the monument again. The boy was pissed to see his and everyone else's hard worked ruined but this emotion was short lived.

After feeling the cold wind and look at the crack that started to appear, there was something telling Ryota that he should be terrified. "Nao, let's go home. We have to get away! You don't have to carry me I'll get back there on my two feet! I JUST WANT TO GET AWAY!"

"Well, at least that boy's survival instincts are working. It would probably have been a better idea to run than just stand there." The voice sounded like it came from a young woman with a somewhat crude voice. If one were to turn to the direction of the voice, they'd see a magpie with it's two feet gripping on a nearby tree's branch.

The bird opened it's wings and announced "Yes, I'm a talking magpie but that doesn't matter right now! All of you listen up! Right now there's nothing you can do about the shrine but that doesn't mean you can't do anything! If you want to protect this shrine and the rest of the city, you need to go to the castle on top of the hill, you'll meet someone up there. If you don't, just get away, there's no point killing yourselves because you weren't smart enough to run away!"

The magpie flapped her wings, taking off and heading towards the castle.

And indeed, in a neighboring hill, which was the largest in Sakurasaki city, stood the old ruins of a Japanese Style castle. From it, something was shining bright in a beckoning pale pink light.

If the kids ran there, they would be at its entrance in less than five minute.

"That-sound-monu-breaking-paint-wha-?!" Alice babbled for a moment. Eventually, she calmed down enough to rationalise her thoughts, somewhat. Shakily, she got to her feet, not wanting to appear weak to the younger girl. No, in this... bizarre scenario, she had to appear brave and heroic!

Then a bird talked.

Alice had barely listened to what it said, overcome by shock once more. She seemed to be staring into space for a moment before muttering, "What...?"

Hana looked from the breaking monument to the talking bird. Clearly, her mind just decided to take a holiday, leaving her imagination in charge. She looked toward the monument again, and decided to follow the magpie. After all, if she's hearing voices, she might as well believe them...
I'm probably going to regret this, she thought to herself as she ran after the magpie.

So how do you make an already crazy situation all the more unstable? Why, throw in a talking bird of course! Ichigo watched, absolutely stunned, as the bird instructed them on what to do. Get to the castle, it said. Someone would be waiting for them there. And then it flew off. What. Her fellow schoolmates seemed to heed the advice, several of them already setting off for the aforementioned castle.

"Wait!" They weren't supposed to be following talking magpies! On instinct she ran after those who had set off, already wondering how bad of an idea this ranked as on the "Really Super Bad Ideas" scale. Probably a definite ten.

"Why is there a talking bird?" Hanako wondered, turning and following everyone else. Hmm... hopefully they wouldn't go too quickly; she was wearing sandals and running was probably not much of an option with the laptop on her person. Normally, she wouldn't have heeded something telling her to go somewhere on such strange grounds... but the castle was actually on her route home, so it wouldn't delay her by more than a minute or two and she could see this ridiculous joke to its inevitable conclusion.

The talking magpie managed to divert Ryota's attention from whatever the scary thing at the shrine was. The bird recommended getting away from the area, so he was going to listen, get off his sister and run away. However Nao started running before he moved, with his weight barely seeming to slow her down. They were quickly getting away from the horrifying force, so Ryota just accepted whatever direction Nao was going and held on tight.

The magpie kept her path to the castle. Although tempting to look back and see who decided to follow her, that might mess with her flight.

The bird started to think the words she said before were a bit rushed but she pretty much said what was important at the moment and those kids needed to leave a dangerous area as quickly as possible.

Talking bird, glowing lights, ruins of a castle... this... this was horribly confusing. But... Masuko had to go somewhere, and... that castle looked like.... it didn't look evil, like what was attacking the shrine. It looked... pretty much the complete opposite. The bird was confusing, but... Masuko felt like going for the castle would at the very least be safer. She grabbed the older girl's hand and tried to pull her along.

Alice, snapped out of her reverie, was pulled along by the younger girl. Stumbling after Masuko, she gave a worried glance to the bird heading for the castle. "W-wait! What's going on! Why're we even following that thing? Can't we, like, call the police or something?"

...Could the police even handle a monument that randomly broke apart and made giant banging sounds?

Alice couldn't quite hide her hesitation as they approached the castle, especially since she kept squeezing Masuko's hand for reassurance.

Orihime noticed the scene and decided to leave, as covertly as possible, and get right into home. It was getting late and her parents still think she's in school, while teachers and the so probably still believe she's sick.

Breaking rules is really difficult... she thought, while leaving making as little noise as possible.

A light? Really, now, what the hell was going on? She just fell asleep and then she woke up. THAT WAS IT. This happened and now a strange glowing light? She sighed and scratched her forehead. It was a pretty fine light, after all. There wasn't much else to do but run for it. One step and then another and she was off on a wonderful run. Pretty light, here she comes!

And so, as the students of Sakurasaki ran up, towards the hill which promised hope in these new and strange events which they found themselves into.

It's wrong, isn't it? Destroying the old monuments... attacking our dear city... said a soft voice speaking to each of their hearts.

Just then, as if pushing them forward a new breeze blew through the city... and towards the hill on which stood the oldest building in all of Sakurasaki. Though unlike the last one, this gust of wind carried with it a comforting warm air.

If you wish to stop it... If you wish to protect your dear city...

The hill was the tallest in the city, not an easy run by any means. But still, if they managed to persevere they would soon see the tall stone walls... in ruins but still standing tall and firm... and coming from the open wooden doors the promising light.

...Then come to me, children of Sakurasaki

Passing through those doors they would find the greatest cherry tree in all of Sakurasaki... an ancient sentinel with branches which rose up towards the heavens. And all of those branches were now covered in a myriad of glowing pink petals.

Standing beneath it's shade, clad in a pink kimono stood a single girl among the swaying cherry blossoms. She had the darkest black hair tied up by a ribbon, white skin so pale that she seemed almost ephemeral and small lips like a pair of those petals which swayed in the breeze around her.

The girl, looking as come straight from a dream, opened dark black eyes and smiled at those gathered before her "I am so glad that you heard my call. The call of your city. It speaks well of it to see so many who wish to defend her"

"Thus, if you all have the will to protect Sakurasaki... then I am the one who shall grant you the means"

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

The first thing to catch Larissa's eyes was the massive cherry blossom tree. Was it divine? Was it some kind of god? This kind of beauty wasn't natural. Then there, below the tree, stood a girl in a pink kimono. Larissa figured it up and, yes, she was definitly the one talking to them.

That ain't right..., she thought to herself, her eyes falling onto the ground. No, in reality she didn't care all that much about the city. But the power to protect it? That interested her.

The power to fight, eh?, her eyes go from the girl to the tree. She didn't take note of any of the other people around her. She simply put on a smile and nodded. "Alright! Ye've got yerself a deal~!"
