Sakurasaki city.

A city that certainly lives it up to its name as no matter were you go within this place you can be almost sure you'll be able to see a cherry tree nearby. Spring time is marked by the whole city being filled with by the pink petals, swaying in the breeze that make the place one of the most beautiful sceneries to see for miles and miles. As for the city, it isn't a sprawling metropolis but neither is it a small town. It's whole landscape is made of contrasts, lots of old shrines, monuments and pieces from ages past decorating the more modern buildings, their presence giving a little bit of personality and color to a city of the present.

Sakurasaki has always been a good city in the memories of those who live there. Sure, bad stuff happens everywhere but this place has always been good to those who live there. People are nice to each other, their surroundings are beautiful and most problems seem like a thing far away...

Or at least that's how it was before.

Lately, people have woken up to find that the old relics of the town's past have faced acts of vandalism. Surrounding flowers have been stomped upon, old statues have suffered incredible wear in a single night and the wood of some monuments has been painted with a nasty substance that makes them rot.

Of course, the citizens of Sakurasaki are not going to stand up for this! While the City Hall discusses how to handle this unexpected attack on the cultural past of the city, a certain group of schools, elementary, middle and high, have decided to be proactive about solving this issues.

A large group of students have been assembled to go to the sites and fix everything they can. This ragtag bunch have gathered either out of concern for their city, cause it might be fun or because they got caught doing something bad at school and so they got sent with the group to redeem themselves.

"Right! Everyone gather up, we're here!" Called out the teacher responsible for today's clean up effort. A kind, responsible kind of man that just can depend on.

Today's spot was a small park on top a hill near the center of the city. A long time ago a shrine rested on this place, though it has been a long time gone. However, it's ground are just as pretty as ever and so the place became a nice park for people to relax in every once in a while. There were a few foodstands on the side and lots of ground for kids to run around in. However, the students mission today was a single one.

In the middle of the park there was an ancient stone monument, tall as an adult and half again. It was made of carved stones, squares down and getting slightly more spherical on top and they had the character of a single human virtue printed on each of them.

However, this was no longer evident as the stones were covered in a strange red paint. Smaller remains of the shrine were also covered by the paint and some of the grounds had seen a pretty bad while the night before.

"Very well kids, you know the drill. Work as a group and lets take care of all this mess!" The professor said lifting one fist to the air. He would hang around, try to direct their efforts a little before stepping in to help.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

Ryota got put on cleaning duty after found sleeping in class one too many times. He can't help it, he had the tendency to get tired in the middle of the day and some classes are just so boring.

Maybe he could take advantage of the situation though, there were a large amount of students here, maybe it won't be noticed if he takes a quick nap during clean up duty. After doing a bit of cleaning up near a lone cherry blossom tree, he did feel like getting a little shut-eye, closing his eyes and sleeping with his head resting on the tree.

Hana volunteered for cleaning duty. She liked Sakurasaki City's various parks and monuments and couldn't stand and watch while they were defaced. So there she was, wearing practical clothes and cleaning the lowest stone of the monument, the one that read 決定*

.
While she was doing that, she was muttering to herself:

"Hey wake up sleeping beauty!" Nao kicked her little brother a little to wake him up. She had gotten sent here as a punishment for shattering a window while playing baseball. "You have work to do!"

The boy opened his eyes to see his sister Nao. Ryota was quick to close his eyes and responded "I'm tired and you're supposed to sleep when you're tired."

"Urgh, fine." Ryota got back up on his two feet and picked up his tools for cleaning. "I shouldn't be forced to be here, it's the school's own fault. I'm tired because it starts too early."

Ryota than continued cleaning. If he wasn't hit by fatigue, he would willingly continue cleaning without a break, he did care for this city. However, the boy really likes getting a good amount of sleep.

Humming merrily to herself, Alice scrubbed away at the paint, stopping occasionally to wipe her brow with the back of her hand. Getting rid of this stuff was tough! But she couldn't bare the thought of leaving such important stuff marked like this! No one messed with her home!

The non-native Japanese girl attacked the mark with rigorous vigour, intent on completely eradicating the paint from the other side of the statue. After a minute of this, however, Alice simply had to collapse onto her back from the exertion. Good thing she was wearing a summer shirt and shorts, otherwise she might have passed out from the heat.

"...Little... help?" Alice weakly asked anyone nearby.

Much as she always did when her family made her go outside, Hanako had grabbed her laptop and retreated to a gloriously wide branch on a tree, carefully sitting there and making sure she had at least two ways to stop anything from falling whilst she was up here. It was a nice place to sit, especially when it was quite around here, and it meant that she could get back to playing whatever it was that she felt like playing away from the prying eyes of useless people.

On this fine, fine day when a gaggle of students (Hanako herself having graduated... barely... and not really done anything since then) were ruining her normal peace and quiet, she was playing a h-game. Yuri with the gameplay of Qix, of all things...

Nao was in the middle of some work scrubbing the statue when she heard Alice ask for help. The Oni of Sakurasaki sighed when Alice called out for help and reached out a hand to help her.

"Are you alright?" She asked

Hana stopped and looked at the patch she was working on. Damn it, this was one stubborn paint... Still, she wasn't going to give up.
"Yes, this paint is really stubborn," she muttered, before sitting down again and wiping at the paint with renewed vigour.

Alice glanced at the hand of the girl who came to her aid and took it in her own, pulling ehrself into a sitting position. With a nervous smile and glancing at the ground to her side, she muttered, "Thanks... um, sorry to trouble you, but I was having trouble..." Alice gestured towards the part of the statue she had been trying to clean. "I-I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or anything..."

"Why do you think you're doing anything wrong?" butted in Ryoto. He had moved on from litter duty to scrubbing off the paint like his sister.

"Like, I'm half asleep and I noticed your one of the harder workers. Maybe you just overworked yourself?"

"Masuko Masuko will set out and clean the entire park with the help of her friends and also people she only kind of knows, and, um... other people too!" declared Masuko. With that, she picked up a large bucket of soapy water, turned away to run to the nearest statue with it... and fell over on her face, spilling the water over. She pushed herself up off the ground, and sat back on her knees, rubbing her head. She had hit the ground pretty hard...

"Ow..." she blinked, then abruptly realized that the water had spilled. frantically, she tried to pull it back upright, but even after she had done so she'd lost more then half the water in the bucket.

"I... um.... Masuko Masuko can still work with this!"

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

Alice's face flushed slightly at Ryoto's words, her fingers tapping the ground nervously. "O-oh, am I?" Nervous laugh. "I'm... j-just doing what I... ah!"

Alice gasped upon seeing a rather loud young girl suddenly trip and lose most of her water. Looked like she'd hurt herself too...
Getting to her feet, Alice quickly approached the girl, giving her a nervous glance. She was always terrible at starting conversations, but if she thought someone was hurt or upset... well, at the very least she could find an adult, right?

"Excuse me, are you okay?" Alice asked, leaning down slightly. "Are you bleeding or something? W-will I get a teacher or upperclassman?"

Sergei had gotten down to business with a determination not to be distracted. The thought that someone had defaced the monuments was almost inconceivable. Did they have no respect? Nevermind. He'd simply have to clean up the mess they left behind - surely the culprit would be caught soon. The thought carried a sliver of satisfaction, and he began to pour extra effort into his task.

"Eh?" Masuko looked up at the girl who was speaking to her. She didn't look that much older then Masuko herself, maybe a couple years as far as she could tell. "I'm fine! Masuko Masuko does not allow small falls to slow her down!"

She quickly sprang to her feet. She didn't want to worry anyone, not in the slightest! And... then she stumbled a bit. It wasn't particularly bad in the grand scheme of things, but the bruise on her leg didn't look particularly pleasant. "... Um... even bruises don't slow down Masuko Masuko!"

Looking at Masuko and noticing the bruise, Ryota responded "Honestly, I think Masuko Masuko should stop cleaning duty. I think your leg would agree with you."

Realising what he just said, Ryota tried to take advantage of his words. With his hand over his forehead and an obviously fake sick voice, the boy said "And I think I might need to take it off too...I'm feeling a bit woozy, maybe I should take a nap?"

Hana lifted her head from the statue. The paint still didn't budge... and it seemed there was a problem brewing. She got up, wincing — she sat in the same position for too long a time, it seemed — and walked over to Ryota, Nao, and the rest.
"Excuse me, is there a problem?" she asked.
