Nintendo systems have the Virtual Console.

Also, XBLA, PSN, and WiiWare.

So no other major ones on computers?

Is Gamer's gate good btw? It keeps popping up whenever I go.

Onlive not so much, I take it that that one isn't as good?

No idea. I'm a console gamer, and only with Nintendo systems, at that.

I see ads for Onlive a lot. The only other one I've heard of from your list is Steam.

Hmm, I guess that means I have to post links for each of them ._.

iTunes and Google Play (formerly Android Marketplace) are the centers of digital distribution for iOS and Android devices respectively. If you have a current OS X computer, then the Mac App Store is definitely relevant.

As for Windows computers, there's many options. Two of the larger ones are Gamestop PC Downloads (formerly known as Impulse Driven) and Direct2Drive, which is currently owned by Gamefly.

Don't miss the Wikipedia article on video game digital distribution. It mentions a lot of lesser-known services near the bottom. Competition seems to be strong, and at least a few of these no longer exist. Gametap's site still works, but whether or not the original company still owns it, it has a negative history.

Huh, I see .-. You can still buy stuff from gametap?

I'm kind of searching for different digital distributing services because 1) I got curious 2) I heard that one obscure game is in gamers gate, but not in gog that is for old games, so I figured out if I want to boost my collection of obscure old games I need to start using other sites too

Dang, there are lots of digital distribution services ._. Majority of them are just unknown... Which places are best to find old games? I see that gamers gate has them too, but other ones?

My best guess would be GOG. Old games were their entire purpose initially, after all. This changed a while ago, but it's still an important part. Recently, they released the entire Quest for Glory series.

I'm not sure if they are the best for old games, but they have a good selection.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.

I didn't mention gog in previous post because gog is obvious ^^; I meant ones besides the gog? Are there any reliable ones to find old games?
