I suck at chess but as soon as I get some money, I'll be all over this. I had some good times playing Battle Chess 4000 as a kid.

No. Not only did the original project fail but said project was started by Subdued Games while Battle vs. Chess is made by Targem Games and Zuxxez Entertainment. Apparently the game was made last year but was only released now because Interplay (who was helping develop that Kickstarter project) sued them for the name similarity.
