Soon after the robot had disappeared, a strange sound, a 'blip', could be heard in the hears of several of those heroes who had registered with the government. AKA, all of the Registered players.

To properly alert it's Super-hero agents when needed, the government came up with a system that allowed them to do so easily, and efficiently. They would have just given them wrist-watches that emitted an alert signal, but someone in the higer-ups was so bloody drunk that they ended up taking another option instead. When a hero registered, a small microscopic device was put in their ear, and whenever there was a time that they were wanted, that device would emit a sound in their ears, letting them know to come straight down to the Metrolopolis police station.

This was one of those times.

Isaac could barely hear the ringing over the voices in his head. As it turned out, absorbing a person's body didn't rid the Devourer's mind of their presence. It was as if there were remnants of the people he ate residing in his brain, screaming for release. And after two years of killing killers, there were a lot of voices in Isaac's head. For the most part, he tuned them out, but there were always times when he couldn't let his mind rest at night because of the noise.

Suppressing the voices once again, Isaac stood up on the gargoyle that he'd been sitting on for a few hours, collecting a light brunch from the pigeons that perched within range of his tendrils. Jumping off the building, Isaac let himself feel the sensation of falling before releasing high-pressure blood from his hands, which dissolved into the air as he flew towards the MPD.

Landing gracefully on the ground in front of the entrance, in that he only left a few cracks on the sidewalk this time, Isaac walked into the MPD to see what they wanted from him now.

Kali grit her teeth as the high-pitched beeping went off in her ear, only adding to the pain and irritation she already felt. She was seriously beginning to regret listening to dad when he told her to register.

"Alright, I got it, I got it!" she yelled angrily at the implant. She mounted her motorcycle again. It wasn't as fast as running or flying, but after they'd gone to such lengths to further ruin her day, she felt like making them wait.

She pulled up to the station, spotting someone hitting the ground nearby. "Yo, Isaac. You get the call too?"

Isaac turned his head as he walked up the steps to find himself looking at the young superhero named Kali (no relation to the goddess). As she got off of her motorcycle, Isaac opened his mouth to speak to her in his quiet voice that made no effort to hide the fury behind it, which thankfully wasn't directed at Kali.

"Hello, Kali." he greeted. Taking a second to remind himself of the facts of the girl, he asked "Any idea what they want from us now?" Isaac then turned and began walking up the rest of the steps to the MPD, waiting for Kali at the door.

Matthew drove up to the police office right then. He'd spent half the ride back trying to get a very confused Kara to quit asking what had happened to the robot.

Honestly, he still wanted to know where the robot went, but he supposed whatever this emergency call-in was, it was vitally important. At least, it had better be vitally important.

He pulled into the garage on the side, and got out of his car. With Kara floating alongside him, he walked towards the building lobby, only to run into two other arriving supers.

"Hey," he nodded, "Shall we get going then? Don't want to keep the chiefs waiting, after all."

"Meh, could kill them all anyway," Isaac replied to Matthew. He opened the door and stepped into the building of the MPD.

It better be important, or I'm gonna eat them and see what they're planning for us, which of course we won't like, Isaac thought as he walked to where they were to receive debriefing.

As the three of them entered the room, a middle-aged black man in fine black suit, with a streak of white in the middle of his hair, noticed the three, after having been standing around for the last several minutes, waiting for them.

"Well, well, well," said Robert Mc Cully, with an eyebrow halfcocked. "Seems you guys finally got here. Something to keep in mind; we Registration Laison's don't like to be kept waiting."

He then turned around, walking over to the hall on the right, gesturing them to follow him, while saying, "Follow me to the debriefing room. Got two things for ya', so don't dilly-daddle," all the while never looking back at them; not because he felt superior to them, but because he simply didn't feel the need.

And don't like being kept hungry, Isaac thought. He never like working under the government's leash, but he followed with the act because he was tired of military forces attacking him, and also because he knew they would point him in the direction of the really evil people that the Devourer usually ate.

He made a slight gesture for the others to follow him before he walked after Mc Cully to their mission debriefing.

After the robot had disappeared and Wildcard's earpiece had activated, he climbed back up the building he had previously been on and started leaping across the skyline to get to the MPD. As he reached the building, he entered through the roof access and jumped down the stairs to the level that lead to the usual meeting room. Hopefully he wasn't late.

It wasn't until after the giant robot dissapeared, and those affiliated with the government had gone their way, that the police finally made their move. 3 police cars could be seen, driving their way around the area, not stopping until a triangle of sorts was formed. The police swam out of each car, and of them had brought out a megaphone.

Holding it up to his mouth, he yelled out, "Okay, listen up! We know you Supers're there, we can see 'em! Now, don't make this any harder then it has to be! Any Supers there, any not registered with the government, just surrender with your hands up! 'Cause we got bullets... and stuff... look, just come in quietly, huh?" The cop figured that this stunt wouldn't work, seeing as it never had, but this was his job; it was what he being was paid to do, so that was as good a motivation as any.

Lucunditas groaned. He was about to leave the building- and his superhero disguise- and get back to headquarters when the police officer told all non-registered superheroes to come out with their hands on the open. Great. Another one. He seriously didn't want to fight anyone, or anything. He removed his mask, opening his jacket, revealing his bare chest and pale skin, and touched a nearby metal pipe, transforming just his leg into metal. He immediately brought down his leg on the mask, destroying it. He had various others back at headquarters, anyway. Acting like just another civillian (albeit one wearing no shirt, with white skin, yellow eyes and sharp teeth), Jack tried to escape the scene.

It had only been through a fortunate case of not being human that Arguma had avoided having the beeper placed directly into his ear. While the people of Earth had learned much about his biology in the years since he had first arrived on their planet, there were still a great many thing about his body that were a mystery to them, including how exactly they would stick such a device in his ear in the first place.

There was, of course, always the downside that he would likely be in serious trouble if he ever caught a major illness or required any kind of surgery, but Arguma tried not to think too much about that.

At present, his shuttlecraft was hovering over the site of the crater that the mystery robot had first made its stop at, naturally in stealth mode. He had regrettably arrived too late to affect the battle himself, but even so he felt there was something to be learned from the situation. The robot had come HERE, of all places, and prior to being attacked had just stood there. The question was 'why?'.

It was a question he would have to try to get an answer to later. It would be unwise at this point to take any longer to respond than necessary. Flying his ship - which had since dubbed the Exile - towards the police station he parked it behind the station. From there, he went to the special entrance that had been built in long ago for people like him - larger individuals that weren't as well-suited to travel through the normal entranceway or the doors that had been designed and built for normal-sized people.

He was pointed in the correct direction and quickly enough caught up with the other arrivals. Most significantly he noticed two people who he had exact opposite feelings about. One, Kali, was probably the closest friend he had on this planet, in large part due to her origins also extending out into space. Unfortunately, she wasn't the kind of alien that could help him get home, but it was nice all the same to know there was someone else that wasn't from around here.

On the other hand there was Isaac, who Arguma didn't trust in the slightest. He knew about what his powers were and what he was, and if it had been up to Arguma, the man and all the minds inside of him would have been put out of their misery at the first possible moment. He was beyond dangerous, and left Arguma in a state of uneasiness just knowing they were in the same room together.

[MC CULLY] He said through his translator, addressing the agent and taking a military stance as he waited to find out what this was about.

'Arguma', said Mc Cully back to Arguma, when they were all in the room. "Been wonderin' when you'd get here. Since we couldn't get that beeper stuck in your ear... well, I don't want to know where they put it, frankly. Anyway..."

The room itself was a fairly simple, plain ordinary room that you would find at a Police Headquarters. In particular, it contained a table just big enough to fill 10 people; 4 superhumans on each side, with the upper seat used for Mc Cully, and the lower seat used for whoever else needed to sit in. There was something you wouldn't expect to see at a Police Headquarters, however; a TV-moniter built into the back room, that could be used to see locations and areas across the city, or essentially act as a video-phone to communicate with other police-stations, or other governmental locations.

Once everyone was seated, Mc Cully did the same, and got right to the point, albeit not without getting himself a cup of coffee. "Alright," he said, "as I said, they're are two things I got for you today. One of them is one we actually had in mind days ago, and that's why were originally going to call you here. We'll still get to it later today, but now, we got something else we need to deal with. We just got reports of a giant robot that went rampaging through the city, before stopping right at the crater of... well, you-know-what. And we also got reports that some of you were there. Now, don't worry about facing repercussions for dealing with the robot; you're still within your legal rights to do your regular hero work — that is, when you're not workin' for us — and we gladly appreciate it, but the fact is, some of you were there. And we have a number of reasons for wantin' to know as much about it as we can. So, we're going to need you — those of you that were there — to tell us every single detail about the robot. We want what he said, what he did, where he took a piss if robots can piss, every single detail. Any questions?"

This might go without saying, but you don't have to explain every little detail about the robot. Something like 'Mr.Goody-Good explained that...' and etc.

This routine again. Strix was getting tired of it. In response he turned up the Variable Frequency Emitter on his belt to ear-drum busting, glass shattering levels for his immediate vicinity, laced it with a slight undertone of Infrasound for that nauseating, disorienting effect and pulled out two grappling guns, using the combined pull of two cables to slingshot himself into the air from a standing position.

Strix soared through the sky, his cape spread out like the wingspan of some massive man-eating bird. His shadow cast itself on the policemen below as an agonizing, eyeball vibrating sonic screech suddenly bombarded them, the figure gazing down from the air almost mockingly at them with his golden, inhuman looking eye-lenses.

"To be precise," Matthew noted, "It seemed to react more and more frantically with each attempt to stop it. While I've never heard of a robot being programmed or designed to panic...well, that was it."

"Yeah, it was totally afraid of me!" Kara boasted inside his head. He ignored her.

"If it appears again, I suggest we be very cautious. It somehow could detect my powers too...and most machines can't do that." He sat back, watching the others' reactions.

"Meh, you can still punch it, that's one thing," Kali said in a bemused tone. "And am I going to get any workman's comp now that I actually work for you guys? I mean, I did just fall forty feet into someone's car."

She yawned and leaned back in her chair. It was pretty evident that out of everyone here, Kali probably gave the fewest fucks about what just happened.

"You'll get your pay soon enough," said Mccully. It was at that moment that Tertiius walked in. "Just in time, Tertiius. Sit down, will you?"

Mc Cully then took a moment to think, scratching intently at his forehead. "Hm... Wildcard, we're going to have to have a talk later. It's obvious that there's somethin' about you that caused that robot to sit up and take notice. May be the fact that you are a sort of 'wildcard', if your file's right. But, that'll have to wait. Same goes for the details of the robot, because what we have now is a more pressing matter."

Mc Cully then walked over to a small table of the left side of the room, grabbed several files from off of it, walked back over to the meeting table, then slammed the files straight down onto said table. "These...", he said, "are your targets. But first, the details. Ever since we passed the Prohibition Act, they're been some super-heroes who... well, let's just say they didn't see eye to eye with the big ol' government. But I'm not talking about the average un-registered super-hero; no, these guys are radicals. They think that super-heroes shouldn't be forced to give up any personal information under any circumstances, nor should they be controlled in any way. Now, I realize that many non-registered's think that, but these guys are actually doin' somethin' about it. They've already attacked 3 government faculties across the state, and now, they're aiming for Metropolis. We got this information from a few brave boys who, unfortunately, we haven't heard from since we got said information. However, this information was very valuable, as our 'heroes' are aiming for something a bit different here; the Super-prison."

"As you know," continued Mc Cully, "while we've always had a prison for Super-beings, it hasn't had much extensive use until now. Cost of operating it's sky-rocketed too, considerin' all the various traps and specific containment procedures that's necessary to contain all of these beings, and with more to come. But these guys are planning one big breakout, tonight at midnight, and we believe they have the means to do it."

"Those files will give you the details on 'em," continued Mc Cully, "but let me give you the short version. Volt; capable of producing vast amounts of electricity, including enough to shut down a prison... even one for super-heroes. Though of course, he first has to find the proper outlet, or source, to fuel his electricity into, so you have to prevent him gettin' there. Strongman: Name's self-explanatory. Incredibly strong and durable, serve's as the muscle of this operation. Lightning: The group's speedster, and she's so fast that she may well be able to rush some of the prisoner's out of there after Volt does his thing. Also lovers with Volt. And finally, Master-mind. Has no special skills aside from being very well fit and trained... as well as being incredibly intelligent. He's the one responsible for planning the previous attacks, as well as this one, so even though he might be weak physically, you should still be cautious with him. That one can really get under your skin."

"So," Mc Cully finished, "any questions?"

"That," said Mc Cully, holding up one finger in response to Issac, "is somethin' I was going to bring up later, but now's a good as time as any. No, don't kill 'em. We want 'em alive, for questioning. Plus, killing a quartet of super-heroes so soon would look pretty bad on the goverment's resume, if you know what I mean; even with the general opinion on supers' being' what they are. Of course, if you have to... I personally don't want 'em killed, and it's also what my superiors want, but, if you have to, if there's no other way... well, you get the idea."

"And also," continued Mc Cully, turning towards Wildcard, "yeah, we already got some equipment for you all, including said boots; you'll get it at 11:00 PM tonight; that's when you'll come in to get prepared. But until then, all of you, feel free to do whatever you want. Just remember to be here on time. Now, unless anyone else has any questions, you're all dismissed.
