Does Not Illustrate: Hopping Machine

The trope Hopping Machine is about machines or robots that don't have wheels or legs, but instead hop everywhere. So of course, the image for it is a car with legs. Um, no, that doesn't illustrate the trope.

It doesn't say in the description that it can't have legs.

Does this count?

I think the picture illustrates the trope. If it doesn't hop, it has to crawl, but the bunny ears suggest hopping.

Hm, would this screenshot of the Egg Spring from Sonic Advance◊ suffice? I mean, I know it's kinda small, but that's nothing I can't easily fix.

Good example, would prefer a screencap where it doesn't blend with the background so much.

Cropped it, scrapped the background, and doubled its size. If I recall correctly, that is the only screen on which the mech appears, so it would be impossible to find or take a screenshot where the sprite does not blend into the background as much.

How about this◊?

Either that's a fan game or I was wrong.

^ That appears to be a fangame, as the Egg Press (the actual name of the mech) only appeared in Sonic Advance.

I dig the cropped image of the mech, by the way.

It is a fan game. You are right. I don't notice that.

Still don't know what's wrong with the current picture, but if we're replacing it, here's another option.◊

Going even further back into the series, there's this unused enemy◊ from Sonic The Hedgehog.

Muddy! What happened to the saturation present in the earlier images? The crop is good, but that bugs me.

I honestly prefer the concept art. Either the Egg Press or the Splatsbot.
