One thing that I should've mentioned in the "Things in Videogames I learned the hard way" list: The Nazis have surprisingly good ears, and can hear a man jogging in a tunnel underground a lot farther away than you think. Like, almost 20 meters away.

There are a lot of them to boot in many levels.

To be fair tunnels channel sound and tend to echo. The other question is what difficulty setting you playing on?

Sniper Elite difficulty. The bullet ballistics and guards are too simple for me in the lower difficulties. Obviously that's the reason why they're so sensitive, it's just that I didn't expect them to be THAT attentive to the more subtle sounds and sights.

All right, beat the story. Happy to see it was as cheesy and ridiculous as ever.

Missed almost all the collectables though and I only have half the weapon parts, I'll need to go back for them.

Not like I really need them though, the DLC guns have spoiled me.

The only thing really worth going back for would be the Sniper rifle mod parts, but you're definitely gonna need a guide to find all of their locations. The rest of the items just provide achievements.

Beat it yesterday as well. The last mission was kind of a pain in the but especially the factory floor.

I kinda wish we kept the whole mission on the cliffs, that was some fun shit.

Thank god for the HDM though, that's all I have to say about the factory floor.

Do hate to double post but I've gotten all the weapons and binocular parts and there's still a lot of attachments greyed out in the loadout menu.

You only get the customization parts from officers and not always. If you glass the officer, mark them and focus on them if Karl says he has something useful he has a part. There are something like 12 parts per weapon.

So you find those in addition to the 15 collectables?

Sniper rifle parts are found off of bodies. Just shoot a bunch of guys and you will find most of them. I found a few at once at the Fort level. Always tag your targets before you take them out and search the bodies.

A quick way to loot corpses is to pick them up and then throw them down again. You Auto loot on body pick up.

You'd think officers would be the ones in helmets, being that they're more important but no, they gotta wear a little hat.

I don't know if certain levels give certain parts or not but try doing a few levels through and see if you get more parts.

Killed Hitler for the first time.

Got him in the back of the head while he was being driven away.

In Sniper Elite 2 or 3?

In 3, getting the feeling that I wasn't supposed to kill him but whatever.

Real shame that nice white uniform got ruined though.

Your choice really. It doesn't matter either way. So if you take both Sniper Elite V2 and Sniper Elite III kill Hitler Missions together you nail the bastard for certain.

No one. It was staged.

Turns out the officers who spawn in survival drop weapon parts too. Awesome, much easier than running about the story missions over and over.

Are there only the two maps or is there some way to unlock more?

Well I'm done with trying to collect the achievements for this game: they're beyond bugged, especially for the Kill Hitler (again) DLC. I killed him using every method available and I saw the achievements register with Steam, they're still not being credited to my account.

I know it's not critical to the game proper, but it's really annoying to know that my efforts in maiming Hitler in so many ways will go unrecognized.

Just grabbed the third game on sale, I'm hoping for the same shooting mechanics, the promised open maps and a plot that's better than V2's Card-Carrying Villain Soviets doing evil shit for no reason.

For three the areas are more open in general but not open world open. The levels are larger and there are usually few different routes in an area. A few areas are still a bit linear in feeling but they are less corridor like then the predecessor.

As for your statement about 2's plot I am afraid you are not accurate in your opinion. The Russians are never made to be card carrying villains and the plot isn't just for the lulz or because. The game makes that pretty clear.

I thought the whole attempt Sarin attack on London was a bit over the top (or was that just the Germans?), I mean the plot about fighting over scientists and tech was fine.
