I think this image is awful, and would agree with pulling it.

Actually, a screenshot like this one◊ or that one◊ would be better, because it shows context rather than being JACAAC. In both cases, the shot contains a platform game, with somebody grabbing coins, and a coin counter at the top of the screen.

I think the Mario one is more clear. The colouration of the Rayman picture makes it harder to see the blues.

Even a simple mocked-up equation of "(coin) x 100 = (1up) x 1" would do worlds better than just a single coin.

I agree. Claiming we keep this for now just seems wrong, as it doesn't show the trope. At most, it makes it look like it's about money.
