It might be because the decision wasn't as sweeping as a lot hoped. People still can't get all the benefits of marriage, (just the federal which is most) if their state doesn't allow gay marriage.

Nah, your way of life is fine. Just means more people are okay with not following it.

To me it really doesn't matter. If God has made things so that life appears to follow a set of rules but in truth he's actually hidden and able to break them at will, well I can't tell the difference.

It makes no difference to my life if there is a god who made the world to follow the rules that we see around us, if I'm in the Matrix, if everything I see if just a coma hallucination, or if the world does actually exist as I see it. Because if any of those things are true, then they exist in such a way that I can't break the illusion. So feck it, I'm going to work on the basic that reality is as it is, my actions would be the safe with a god or without one, so it makes no difference to me.

Why does Bible continuity have to be more complicated than even comic continuity? Seriously the story is less straightforward than 40 years of X-men.

Well, considering I left the faith as a teen, I have full plans on if christianity is real, to leap in a lake of fire with my head held high :P

Why they bothered with the four slightly different alt universes is something I'll never understand. I mean Jesus dies in all four. What was the point?

Jesus was a time lord

Wait, a minute........

A wanderer, who can exist as different people, who are still the same person, who can't die, who despises dictators, goes around recruiting companions of varying backgrounds to combat evil and save the world.

......Oh shit.

@Starship, I think your arrow needs fixing. As for additional Christians, my hero complex is vast but I'm still only going to play guardian angel/translator to you, I do have a (sorta) life. [lol]

[up]Not to mention just kidna disappearing after all the interesting stuff is over. Though that brings up the question, what was Jesus' TARDIS? A fish?

You know what else was bizarre? The weird retcons like whether or not Satan serves himself or tests peoples loyalty to God as his servant.

Please you plebeians Zordon is Jesus. His death rid the Universe of all evil, (sin) after The Countdown to Destruction, (an Apocalypse).

Considering God created him knowing damn well he'd rebel it seem obvious to me that he's still serving God in some capacity, whether he knows it or not.

I mean think about it. An omniscient being is the master of the Batman Gambit. It shouldn't be possible to defy one, because they know exactly what to say to make you do what they want.

considering the Jewish tradition is Lucifer is a loyal servant who plays devils advocate purposely and the evil satan thing is an invention of christianity later down the line..I'm inclined to more believe the Jewish ideal.

As fun as this derail is, we should probably take it to the theology thread if there's no addition of LGBT rights to the convo.

Hmm, if i believed the god of israel existed, I would have to strongly disagree with him about a few things like instigation of war on the way to the promised land, the large scale terrorist attacks on egypt or the nuking of sodom.

All in all, I like the bible better as a fantasy epos, than as a historical record.

All I know is, my gut says maybe.

Jesus did say "The kingdoms of Earth is not meant to be the Kingdom of Heaven" or something to that effect right? If that is true than why are there so many Christians, Catholics, and Jewish people against gay rights? What does it matter if the rules of this kingdom do not reflect the rules of heaven as long as your not forced against breaking the rules of your religion?

I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU ALRIGHT!

Ahem...

My mother comes from a pretty devout family and I have been to Church a few times but no I was never as observant as you are now. I think it's mostly just cause memorization is fairly simple for me. Quotes, dates, names, places, real easy. Probably why I found history class easy too.

I don't think he meant you had a failure, I think he meant that the people against gay right had that failure. At least that's what the second part of his post lead me to believe.
