This card used to sell for ten dollars each...

There, figurative and literal.

I can't read any of the text other than the title.

The caption is doing pretty much all the work, and the title of the card is a reference to the trope title instead of the trope meaning.

I'd prefer a picture of one of those display cases with all the cards in them and the prices on the cards. You can find them below the counter of a lot of local gaming stores, and many of the prices for that stuff can be obscene.

Although I'm not sure that tcgs can even fit this trope, since you're already paying money for them; you're just paying a bunch of money to have a definite chance of getting one.

TCG's are the first category in the examples section, so I imagine they would get priority. I picked this card because it fits the literal meaning of the trope (Costing $10 for one copy of the common version) and the fact that it is a card about bribing as an extra bonus. Cards like Black Lotus and Charizard lack that perk.

Would you rather it read "Just imagine that disembodied sleeve said "Konami" on it"?

Or a new image that's more to the point:

This trope is not about bribing. Having a card about bribing as the page image is misleading, especially in conjunction with the title. It's like having a picture of a dog being petted on Pet the Dog.

The trope is about how you can buy advantages in the games listed. That's why I think a simple shot of a display case filled with singles that have price tags on them would work better; it is a literal representation of how the trope works.

Also, there is a rule against full cards as a page image, although I think that may be looser on a trope like this.

We do see people petting an animal on Pet the Dog. Did you mean Throw the Dog a Bone? Anyway, I've given mixing the idea a shot, though I could slap that price tag onto any card, really, and only picked Dark Bribe because of the name. Any other card suggestions?

how about just a really expensive card that's also really powerful in game, like the full exodia set with a caption saying, cost 500$, winning the game when you use em, 500$ dollars.

I think another idea would be to add a picture involving "free to play" video games' in-game currency which you have to buy with real money.

Yes, but the picture's not a dog so that we don't confuse people on what the trope means.

I do like the card with the price tag on it.

If we're going to do trading cards, why not show trading cards in their original retail condition?

Skylanders also qualify — heck, some stores even have full displays to promote them.
