Why and how?

Personally, I figured there would be some kind of crisis in the interim that would make it a question of if they can even make it, but given all the opportunities Super has already squandered, I doubt it.

Seems unlikely. Also, it would require that Multiverse is as bad as Evolution.

For all the complaints we have of it, I'm not sure if it's that awful. There's a lot about it that I like to be honest.

Maybe this is an opportunity to introduce Towa and Mira into the series proper. Maybe we'll even get Time Patrol Trunks and Skot as well. Sure, those four are all about Time Travel instead of alternate universes, but still.

I remember reading a minicomic about Salagir and either Gogeta Jr or Asura approaching Toriyama at a panel with him having no idea who they are or what they do. Tournaments have always been one of the best parts of Toriyama's writing and, aside from the Freeza Saga, there has been one in every single Saga of Dragon Ball up to Dragon Ball Super, as long as the Cell Games technically count. My favorite part of the tournaments is how Toriyama almost always subverts Not Just a Tournament and it almost always is just a tournament: from the first three, to this one. Toriyama does tournaments really well, and I love that he's going back to them.

A multiversal tournament? Toriyama has, in the past, done the "Well, let me show you how to do it right" with movies, and he's doing a multiversal tournament...

If they really approached him and he learned of their stuff, maybe he is deciding this is bad. I better step in before they ruin things.

It's honestly hard to tell with that guy. I mean, again, for all the criticisms of Multiverse (and they are numerous) I think Salgir has more respect for the source material then the makers of Evolution did. Though I'm not sure how much Toriyama really cares or respects his fans.

It was a good concept with poor execution. The art was good, the writing... not so much.

I mean, Salagir had Broly fight Vegetto and match him to the point he forced Vegetto to go SSJ 3. You really can't have bullshit that is bullshittier than that bullshit.

Salagir also made the higher Super Saiyan multipliers weaker. Super Saiyan 2 went from x100 to x60 and Super Saiyan 3 from x400 to x70.

So,should we expect the Goku and Vegeta (for the not main dish) show to continue?Maybe add Gohan in the (for the not main dish) list?

Incorrect. Salagir has stated recently that his personal multipliers for Super Saiyan 2 and 3 are 10x each. They are actually MUCH larger than in canon.

Depends on whether he thinks it is 'added to' or 'multiplied upon'.

Either way, it's still wrong.

Well, with a mulitverse tournament going on, we might see more characters get some real fights.

I'd just be shocked if we saw two female characters actually fight each other in this series. to be honest.

That's pretty much one of the only things Toriyama hasn't done.

Of course it's multiplied on; that's how Super Saiyan has always worked. 1 is 50x, 2 is 2x, 3 is 4x, multiplied onto each other to equal a net gain of 50x, 100x, and 400x. Or, in Salagir's case: 1 is 50x, 2 is 10x, and 3 is 10x, multiplied onto each other to equal a net gain of 50x, 500x, and 5,000x. Salagir's estimates are dumb.

I think we can just go ahead and agree that Salagir is dumb.

I wouldn't call him dumb, but his personal preferences do get in the way of enjoying Multiverse at times.

He's a fanfic writer, so I'm not gonna fault him too much for that but he does let his personal biases show more often than not,regardless of how the reader would feel about it. Nobody likes Creator's Favorite after all, and it doesn't help not many people have a high opinion of Broly as it is.

I can go ahead and say he's a bad writer, yeah. You don't even have to look at how he handles the Universe 17 cast, AKA the actual DBZ characters, as he barely uses them and they only seem to be in the tournament to talk about how much stronger and better and cooler literally everyone else is than them.

All you have to do is look at his OCs/his alternate universe characters, which are all Sue-arbage and nonsense.

Omni-king was hilarious what with his voice and carefree attitude. Seeing Beerus and Champa sweat bullets was hilarious. And Whis and Vados selling them out. And Goku being like sup Omni-king.

A multiversal tournament for all 12 universes? Sounds awesome.
