Um, monocles always WERE prescription. That was kinda the point. So "you can now buy" seems a little redundant.

Although it may be the case that they were not available new for a while.

I thought the same thing, Morven. But on the other hand, who's gone to their optometrist recently and browsed the rack of monocle designs?

EDIT: Ew, tortoiseshell frame? Besides the fact that's on the way out, I always picture monocles as either having metal/metallic frames or being a bare lens.
