So... remove anything not relevant to (familial) relationship plot twist?
somethingHow much does snowcloning count for indexes?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I don't really know, but it's a horrible title and Needs More Love once we rename it.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I should add that indexes aren't supposed to have loads of wicks. They are indexes, not works or tropes.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yes, even the most successful indexes don't have many wiks. They just keep tropes sorted.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI think pawsplay's name suggestion is made of awe and win.
EDIT: Nevermind.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I don't see a problem here. Indices don't need to have lots of wicks. It has plenty of tropes. Also, all of the trope listed involve some sort of plot twist or revelation involving unexpected or uncertain family relationships.
Cain and Abel and Seth sorta qualifies, in that it is "a third person is introduced specifically in a way to complicate the relationship between established siblings, or between the established siblings and the new sibling."
With minor tweaking of the trope definition, we can make it fit. If we don't want to do that, we can remove it without problems.
All the other tropes fit just fine.
...Except that its Trope Namer isn't an example: By the time Seth showed up, there WAS no relationship to complicate. Abel being dead and Cain being Put on a Bus sorta made sure of that.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.That's probably a good point, but we would need a seperate TRS thread for that.
I say we just call it Family Reveal Index or Familial Relationship Reveal Index or something descriptive, and strike Cain and Abel and Seth from the list.
I see no reason at all to rename. No real evidence has been provided that it is broken.
It is an ambiguous name. It could refer to sudden reveals, or to characters trying to turn others evil.
Or to tropes referencing Star Wars. Or tropes about film quotes.

Yeah, that kind of stuff is why I made this thread.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Any evidence that it is being misused though?
I'm not sure how an index can be misused, but what goes on it does not seem clear. An index should have a defined purpose and stick to it.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Yes. Also, index names should be clear and concise; this one isn't.

Can't touch this. Crowner Time.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.That works well.

Crown Description:
First of all, the name makes no sense outside of referencing Star Wars. Second, it's unclear about what this index really is. Cain and Abel and Seth, for one example, doesn't have anything to do with a family relationship REVEAL, only with a family relationship. This index is so small anyway, with 12 tropes and 10 wicks, that renaming it to remove the snowclone wouldn't be too hard to do.
