Funny, in Defiance I precisely regretted the lack of puzzles. Or complex ones at least (cause "press X to change the color of a sphere" is not exactly what I call a puzzle). And it's true that the forges all looked identical... that's one point where I prefered Soul Reaver 2. But, well, visiting forges was pretty much the only thing to do in SR2 >___<
I'd say each SR game has its crippling flaw: 1 had the tedious Block Puzzles, 2 had the No Sidepaths, No Exploration, No Freedom issue and Defiance had the lack of puzzles, especially plane-shifting puzzles. A game taht would combine the Metroid Vania aspect of the first, the puzzles of the second and the combat of Defiance (updated a bit of course) would be pretty awesome.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.A straight Metroidvania with DMC-style gameplay set in the LOK universe would make me orgasm. Hard.

You're right, I'd forgotten that. All those elemental temples were confusing, they all looked the same. Still not as bad as Soul Reaver 2 where you went through whole chunks of the game world over and over again because of time travel and plain old backtracking.
I guess I would be okay with this if they were rebooting the series, but if this is just going to be the one game, then, just, ugh.
