We could use some actual demonstration of a problem. Is the name misused? Not thriving? Causing another problem?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThere's a bit of complaining on this page too.
somethingSo do you have an actual reason for wanting to rename it?

Since January 1, 2011 this article has brought 2,657 people to the wiki from non-search engine links.
Wicks are healthy, and inbounds are off the charts. So far, there is no reason to rename.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerTrapped by Mountain Lions is an old, old article (Like "Old Discussion Page style old. Like So Old it never saw YKTTW), with healthy inbounds and a decent number of wicks. I'd want to see serious reasons to rename it.

There's still natter and complaining there, though. Example:
- The problem with that part of the arc is that nothing that Uryu and Orihime did had any impact on Ichigo's saving Rukia. They don't even find him until after he stops the execution and defeats Byakuya. Chad has a similar problem (although he once unknowingly helped Ichigo escape from some Mooks), but doesn't get as many scenes.

Just for context.
Which can both be fixed with a clean up. As I said, the page is ancient. It might just never have been cleaned before. I doubt the name is what causes natter - And the Thread is called "ambiguous name".
It's already been posted dude

Ninja'd ya three posts beforehand.
Unless we get some solid problems with this name, I am going to holler. If there is a complaint problem, the thread should have a different title.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerShould a cleanup thread be made?
somethingJust a post on Natter Alert in Special Effort would likely do.
Locking the thread.
Matt, in the future you need to present both at least one solid reason to rename and evidence to support that reason in the opening post of the thread or the thread will be locked. This means you need to do your homework on whether a trope name is really broken before starting the thread, instead of saying "I think this needs to be renamed" and letting someone else do the work.
"The laconic and the trope name don't agree" is not a strong reason for renaming. "The name is misleading" is a strong reason, but you offered absolutely nothing to support that assertion. A wick check (of at least 50 wicks) would be the very minimum required as support.
This policy was announced in the headlines for several days when it was instituted.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
The name makes it seem like this is about any scenario where someone is surrounded by dangerous wild animals.
Yet according to the laconic, this trope is about plots that are concurrent to the main one, but have nothing to do with it.
So yeah, this trope name has nothing to do with the trope itself. We could use something more descriptive. *
