The "Steam Box" isn't a specific piece of hardware. It's more of a concept. There's going to be many "Steam Boxes", not just one set of hardware.

I have a better desktop PC for $900 with 8 core and high end gfx card, etc, etc, which has TV/Out. What the fuck do I need an overheating PC box for?

people that value portability with decent power, I guess.

As someone who is primarily a console gamer trying to move to PC gaming (or rather become equally capable with console and PC gaming) using a 360 controller leaves you so horribly gimped it isn't even funny.

...he rather recommend either PS 4 or a proper PC...if you care of form factor he recommends the Alienware machine if you're going for same price...

Read the article. That's not the steam box. It's a similar product made by someone else with Valve's help. Which means it's got an even smaller market. $1000! Psh!
