This trope is closer to Dub-Induced Plot Hole than Adaptation Induced Pot Hole. But the "made for tv movie" in the description looks like misuse. Let's say a soap opera from England gets popular enough, it's shown in America. Then episode 15, where Sandy is revealed to be Danny's daughter, also has something the American censors don't like, so it never gets exported. But later episodes still reference that missing episode.
Doesn't go in Dub, since translating the work didn't cause it. Doesn't go in Adaptation, because it's the same work.
