Rockstar released a statement trying to quell the flames a bit, claiming the modding engine Take 2 targeted was being used by cheat developers. Review bombers are out in full force, so we'll see if they cane and do a 180 in a few days/weeks.
This almost deserves its own Jimquisition.
That's the best and anyone who disagrees can fuck off
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018What bothers me isn't even Konami basically becoming a pachinko and mobile company. That's disappointing and upsetting, but whatever, money money money.
What I find repulsive is that in addition to that, by all accounts, they are a poorly managed company, a petty company that makes its current employees feel worthless and is spiteful to old employees who leave to pursue better opportunities. They don't have any respect for the legacy of their company or the achievements of the people that actually made them successful, like Igarashi, Kojima, Yamaoka, etc.

yes, calling for an assassination attempt on some people is morally wrong

New theme music also a boxI'm sorry if I came off as extreme it's just inhumane treatment like that angers me.
You guys might want to pay more attention to the Two Worlds II thing, because the dev is firing shots back at Jim...with really bad English.
Waiwaiwait. I'm... sorry.
Define "removed the console" for me. Removed the console version from console stores? Is that what that means?
I'm mostly just confused right now. But, uh, if people were legitimately asking them for microtransactions then... may as well add them, I guess? Confused shrug?
...I got nothing. At least the original explanation of "why not" had some degree of honesty you had to commend them for, though.
I think they mean removing the console commands from the PC version? Since keeping them in when you add microtransactions would be stupid.
As for adding achievements and trading cards... Well seeing how trading cards are racket Steam Greenlight shit shovelers used when making asset flips, I don't think that it's much of an achievement.

At least with modern warfare remastered the incredibly flimsy argument could be made that its "technically a new game" but here there's no excuse.
Adding achievements and trading cards is one thing. Tons of games get them added later. I can see people asking for those, so I don't see an issue there. Microtransactions though...who actually wants those?
But this is mostly part of the really strange pattern the developer has with the game, where they keep updating it like it's a smash hit that still has a ton of buzz and the audience basically just goes "Oh yeah, that game exists." (Goes back to playing something else.)
Not Three Laws compliant. Also, someone compiled this.
Whether cringy awesome or occasionally legitimately funny E3 is always memorable.
I don't think Memorable is the word. Like, without looking it up, tell me about E3 2001 as an event. Don't think most people would.
"Remarkable" maybe.

Wasn't the Nintendo Gamecube presented at E3 2001 or something like that?
The console was announced as the Nintendo Game Cube at a press conference in Japan on August 24, 2000
But I rest my case :)
I said "presented," not "announced." Bit of a difference there: "presented" means the console was shown during the event and not necessarily first revealed.
Anyways, I'm really not the sort of person you ask to recall any details about E3. I didn't start paying attention to E3 until the 2010s, and even then, the only real presentation I pay attention to is Nintendo's; the others I just watch the trailers for their games when they get uploaded onto YouTube.

But yeah devolved digitalis press conference was the best part.
And now, the D&D show that never was.
Damn, that Devolver Digital press conference was pretty hardcore. I'm surprised they were allowed to do that. It's like if the guys behind the Lego Movie and Lego Batman were allowed to do an E3 press conference.
As for Take Two:
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you on that. It's times like these that I feel 100% morally justified in referring to big, greedy corporations like that as "the thieves". Because that's what they are and that's what they do. They're thieves. They steal from their paying customers. And it is stealing. Not stealing requires consent. And that paying customer base didn't give consent.
I've been binge re watching my way through the entirety of the Jimquisiton, including the pre-Patreon days, and it's morbidly amusing but also kinda depressing to see how much WORSE the industry has gotten when it comes to, well, as Jim might say, being greedy tossers who are taking the piss. Hell, Jim used to be positive towards DLC, free-to-play, Amiibo and even microtransations. It's kinda insane to think of at this point.
Also, I've got a confession to make. "Stress" grew on me. I like it now.

Still think it's a bad version of a good song, though I do really like the new crazy circus branding.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984
It's sickening how normalized corporate evil is these days. Take-Two is completely out of line and years of precedent can easily prove that in court. But Open Four's creators know they're not rich enough to afford doing it, so Take-Two gets to have its ILLEGAL copyright claim, simply because corporations are so fucking powerful they can do whatever they want completely unchallenged.
In a world not run by mega corps straight out of cyberpunk such an out-of-line piece of shit incoherent letter would have been thrown out along with those who came up with it, but no, we don't live in such a world.
