That sounds to me just another example of how Bethesda games never have consequences .-. *shrugs*
I was thinking something like that. I mean, I am not familiar with that particular trend of Bethesda(I don't like their games that much), but the way he described, it felt more like developer laziness than anything. I mean, it is good there is support of polyamory in a major release, but, for me, rather than make me interested, it just turned me off from the game. I like for my in game companion to feel alive and comment and interact with the stuff I do and each other. If they don't in key moments I feel they should, it breaks the immersion. The way I understand, your original(s) partner(s) don't even comment if you start dating someone else, which sucks. A single line saying they are okay would have done it, but if it is not even there, it feels more like I stumbled in a bug or something.
This remember me some non jealously mod from The Sims 3. I used it because I felt some of my character shouldn't be feeling jealous. But then everyone was polyamorous and that didn't felt right either.

Yeah, without even an acknowledgement it seems more like the developers just didn't know or care to close that gate. And sure, as Jim says, doing nothing is noteworthy when others do everything to take away, but if I remember right a big thing regarding polyamorous relationships is consent among all parties. At best the consent is in the form of sheer apathy, and at worst you're basically cheating on them.
And it's not like Fallout 4's the first to do this. I remember GTA IV gave you multiple romantic relationships and had no problems letting you juggle between them. Course, differences there were that they didn't push the LGBT option, and the general implication was that you were playing pimp.
Finally, I mean this without any offense in the slightest, but I can't help but feel uncomfortable with referring to polygamy/polyamory in the same sentence as LGBT representation and rights, treating them at the very least within the same group, if not fully equivalently. I fully admit to having shit-tons less experience with polyamory than with LGBT (and the latter comes mainly between online discussions and my own friends). However, I think it can be agreed that society has in general accepted that homosexuality cannot be controlled, it has in general accepted that gender and sexual identities are programmed at birth, and that polyamory/polygamy has not come close to those milestones.
It feels more like an untested feature honestly. I doubt Bethesda was interested in presenting Polyamory relationships.

Yeah, he talked about that a bit in one of his recent videos, which nominally covers Minecraft-but-shittier-and-with-microtransactions.
Special episode, once again going over his defense for the Dynasty Warriors franchise.
Video's good and all, but here's the thing: it really isn't a necessary point to make anymore. Dynasty Warriors, from what I can tell, no longer has the critical stigma attached to it that it once had. Koei Tecmo's (and by this I mean Omega Force Wu's) output has been getting fairly positive reception in the West over the past few years, and DW 8 in particular was praised for its content and innovations and seen as Koei learning from past mistakes and evolving as a result.
That may be true, but bad memories last a lot longer than good ones.
Direct all enquiries to Jamie B GoodIt's really sad that he had to make a video about that. There's nothing wrong with having a different opinion from someone else.
It's more than just that, though. It's the combination of the Internet's obsession with turning everything into memes and how easy it is to warp a message to your liking when you strip away context.
And really, it's an issue that expands beyond the video game industry. Twitter is designed to promote making messages as short and as fast as possible, and yet we treat Twitter so seriously when it comes to controversy and debate. We have created an online culture that prioritizes speed above all else, and as a result rational thought flies right out the window.
There's also the issue with gaming's obsession with Eight Point Eight. I can see why people would feel so outraged by Jim giving MK 7 a 5; we have created a standard that 7 is the baseline of decency and that anything under a 6 is varying degrees of terrible, when in reality Jim actually knows how to use a 10-point scale and has 5 as his base. And sure, I would personally disagree with him giving MW 3 as high as a 9.5, but I can at least understand where he's coming from and acknowledge that there are different standards among different genres.

We have that problem on this very forum, often in the form of the Word Replacement Game. The idea is that you can replace a word in a sentence with a different word to "highlight" how oppressive it is to white men. I see it in a few threads outside the OTC (we're much less tolerant of nonsense in the OTC).
Like if I were to say, "I love the taste of barbecued chicken," and you replaced "chicken" with "Jews", BAM, anti-Semitic.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I don't go on any other forums other than the Media ones, so I honestly had no idea. And it doesn't really surprise me, either, since I've seen similar shit done on other sites.
I found his defense of his earlier reviews to be rather unconvincing. He says that he based his scores on how original the games were compared to other games of the same genre. And yet, FPS games similar to Modern Warfare litter the marketplace - and did in 2011 - but I can't think of a single good kart racer other than the Mario Kart series. Reading his review of Mario Kart 7, I've noticed that he glosses over immense gameplay additions like hang-gliding, kart customizations, and online play (which alone makes the game more enjoyable). Mostly, I'm not entirely sure why he felt the need to defend his opinion, since doing that almost never makes any sense.
I also watched his video on the power of friendship cliche in video games and I must say, it's very often very difficult to tell when he's stating his own thoughts, or stating the thoughts of his persona. He said that he puts on an act so over the top that it's "obviously" fake, but that only makes me question how much time he's spent on the internet.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I can think of one good non-MK kart racer: Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed. Undoubtedly better than some of the weaker entries in the Mario Kart series.
Extra Video Today:[1](Man, I've forgotten how to embed )
Especially since Transformed has the flight/boat additions, similar to Mario Kart 7's glider/submarine thing...except that those two new modes are a lot more varied and, of course, the tracks constantly shift and change around the players. Personally, I found Transformed way more exciting than 7.

It's great to see You Tube finally start addressing how abusable its system is. Sure, there are other issues that exist, and it doesn't actively punish those who try to abuse the system, but it does what it sets out to do: take away the abusers' ultimate trump card. Using Jim's video as an example of what qualifies as fair use is a good way of establishing a recognizable standard, and offering a fairly-substantial amount of money in case someone's actually stupid/crazy enough to go to court is very generous and promotes a good amount of trust. The only possible fault I see is region-locking the video, and even that's more an issue of the law than with You Tube itself.
So yeah, great job all around.

Today's episode is about the DOAX kerfuffle.
And the comments are full of mad. And the video has been flagged. Oh my...
What's the DOAX incident you speak of?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
