By human-reploid I mean just the direction of reploidisation, i.e. that you would be equal to the part of ZX world civilisation that are enhanced humans, not robots with lifespan.

Actually it's fine, it's not too serious a BSOD, he'll probably pull out of it shortly. It's just difficult to wrap your head around the concept that you're a mental construction created by a curse designed to strip your former self of his body and identity in retribution for fighting an Eldritch Abomination.

Sort of similar. Except Philosopher was a genius time lord who probably understands enough Existential Philosophy to become an Anti-Nihilist in the face of his own non-existence, and August is an eight year old child.

Considering we're talking about a cyborg (?) who has lived for several centuries and infused his blood in at least 9 (11 if we count all possible protagonists) seperate people and uses a magical device to try to reset the universe, I'm not sure that conventional wisdom applies any longer.
