Ken Russell's interpretation of the night that inspired Mary Shelley to write Frankenstein. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now. You won't regret it.

I second that. The movie is really quite good. I love the cinematography, and Gabriel Byrne is awesome as always. I love this kind of movie where it tells the making or the story of a well known and/or iconic piece of art. Such is the case for Tim Burton's Ed Wood (even if you mileage may vary on Plan 9 from Outer Space, Burton's movie itself is an outstanding film).

Plus it features a great almost all-electronic score by Thomas Dolby. The soundtrack in itself is excellent. Doesn't always fit the movie, but on it's own it's pretty damn solid. I'd recommend checking the album if you're a Dolby fanatic like me but haven't heard it yet.

[up][up]Yeah, the score is excellent. Strange how such an 80s soundtrack fits with a movie that takes place in the 1800s.

Had no idea this was in the public domain, too. You learn something new every day. tongue
